[Action for housemate] [Trisha, there's someone next to you. He's fast asleep, kind of sprawling everywhere in the bed, all bony knees and elbows, golden hair loose and fanned across the pillows.]
[Action for anyone]
[Van's gotten the basic rundown, even had the entire problem of timelines explained. Now, he's just exploring. He could probably be mistaken for Edward Elric at first glance, the same golden eyes and long gold-blond hair, but his build is different (thinner, for one thing), and he's kind of lost-looking (but not frantic, not obviously looking for anyone), and he's wearing basic Mayfield clothes but no shoes.
Maybe Ed and Al had a brother they never mentioned before.]

[His expression actually seems to soften a bit and he runs a hand through his hair.]
Does mom know you're here?
Damn it, what am I saying, you wouldn't know who she is anyway...
You haven't met anyone by the name of Trisha Elric yet, have you?

Woke up next to her.

He can't imagine how hard that must have been for her. Finally waking up next to her husband after waiting so long for him to come home only to have him not remember anything about her. Not even her name.
This place was sick.]
... Then I guess you do know who my mom is after all.

It still hasn't sunk in, not really.]
Yeah, I do.

[He knows it's stupid and he knows it's irrational, but this entire situation is just... pissing him off. It's not Hohenheim's fault. It's not like he asked to be brought here from a point in time that was hundreds of years before his family existed.
He has no idea what he's done. What he will do. No idea that the homunculus who gave him his name was using him, that in a few years he would be turned into a living, breathing philosopher's stone.
But if anything that just pissed him off even more.
Ed wanted.... he wanted a chance to get to know his dad. And right now Van is far from being that man. The man who cried when he told him his wife's last words. The man who fought beside him -- for him, for Al, for the well-being of the entire country, who would be willing to give up his life if it meant Ed could bring Al back safely. He was centuries away from being the man who wanted another chance to be a father and what Ed wanted was something that couldn't happen. Not here, not now.]
Name's Ed, by the way. Edward Elric. I have a younger brother too... Alphonse.

... two sons.]
Is he here too?

[He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly.]
It's... it's a hobby.

[What kind of person wears armor as a hobby?]
Anything else I should know?
no subject
... There's a lot you should know, but that's kind of moot.
How much was mom able to tell you about this place?
