They look a bit like hour glasses. Wizards use them to go back in time, but I've never heard of anyone managing more than a few hours, and you have to be so careful about it...

No... transfiguring people is frowned upon. One of my teachers turned a classmate into a ferret once though.

Not many people have them but... it's an hourglass that you twist and it moves back in time. Hermione had one to take extra classes for a while... we think she's a bit mad.
