That's not precisely how I expected to wake up yesterday, but all things considered, it could be worse.

Well then, introductions, I suppose. Best as I can manage, at least. My name is Remus, and I assure you that I am a completely uninteresting human being. So uninteresting, I can't rightly think how to introduce myself, apparently.

[sigh] I always was crap at this.

I'm still-- still trying to work everything out here, so if someone would be so kind as to entertain a few questions? I realize we're all relatively in the dark here, but...

[After a moment, Remus pokes his head outside the bedroom door.]

Sultry, yes. That's what I am. [Can you hear him facepalming, James? Can you?]

Just come over, will you? From what I hear, our house is a bit less crowded than yours.

I was wondering if you've managed to learn how to use it, that's all. [She looks over her shoulder at the drone mother in the kitchen, before heading up the stairs.] You know they monitor the lines, right?

[This response comes with a quiet, amused but relatively polite laugh before someone speaks.]

I can't answer that many questions because I only got here a few days ago, too... but it's nice to meet you, Mr. Remus.

Is it? Well, I suppose we've got my new Mum, my new Dad, and my two lovely siblings! That is quite full, isn't it? Back home I've only got Mum and Dad and Padsy.

Pads said as much yesterday. I didn't go into much detail.

[Remus is silent for a moment, before he steps back and motions Lily inside with a gallant flourish.]

Won't you step into my chambers, mi'lady?

Well then, not terribly different for you, is it? Are the two of you already figuring the most effective methods of driving your housemates mad?

I don't think anyone ever expects to wake up here the first time.

I think my mere presence is driving my new sister off her knob. Mum hates what I wear, and wants my hair to lie flat, even though I tell her isn't a lost cause. And I always drive Pads mad, that's why he loves me.

Well I should hope not. Rather strange world we'd live in, if everyone expected that.

How long have you been here, then?

I've always wondered what it looked like. [She hasn't entertained the thought of having one of her friends as a housemate ever since her arrival in Mayfield. Lily's interest in her new family and house has been minimal, at best, but she's glad for the secrecy, allowing Remus to close the door behind them.

Our mum's a rather strange sort. She and Lily are constantly on about dresses or some other thing. And by on, I mean-- arguing loudly.

[He's already gone through their dismal library downstairs and rescued an armful of books that didn't look overtly terrible. He has them in little stacks on the desk, with a couple splayed open on the floor beside his bed.]

Queer sort of thing to get used to, this. How did you manage?

A dress? [That's the frowny-voice, James.]

Don't think it would really flatter me, scars or no.

I stole-- borrowed the bicycle as soon as I got here and wheeled myself downtown. That's what they call High Street over here. As soon as I found other sane people around, it wasn't as claustrophobic.

[At least Remus's room isn't as monstrously pink as her own. Then again, she can't imagine their parents being fine with that sort of thing.]
