Tale 009: Intel and regains

754 Partridge Drive

[Henry has opened up the mail to find a card and a certain walkie talkie. He flips the card over as it shows a picture of a castle. Blinking, he looks out the window, to see in the back that his castle in the backyard. Not destroyed like Regina had done to it. A smile broadens on his face.] (Locked to house mates)

[Later]

[Henry is waiting for those he called on the phone to show up.] (Opened to all.)

 

Phone [Filtered from the drones and The mayor and the Lucy household] 

[So after the horrors of the Carnival, Henry is on the phone and has filtered this call.]

It's Henry. I made it back from the Carnival thanks to Lucas and I managed to find some stuff out. I'm not going to share it over the phonelines, even if it's filtered it might be too dangerous. So come to 754 Partridge Drive. I'll be in the back yard in my castle.

[It's just a play structure Al. No need to be impressed...even though it is impressive.]

No, I'm okay. What about you?

[He slides over in his spot to allow Al to take a seat on the castle.]

[It's quite impressive just because he's never seen it in Mayfield before, and he didn't know people could regain things quite so... big.]

Mm. I'm okay, I was just worried about everyone.

[theboywiththebook]

What about your armor having an echo?

[He still hasn't forgotten when they met up with each other in the Fun house's basement and he took a swing at Al.]

[Wait, what? Of all the things that had happened in the last week or so, that was what he had chosen to zero in on?]

H-Huh?!

[theboywiththebook]

I heard your armor echo when I hit it down in the basement.

[Yes Al, it's because he's concerned! And it's because the giant suit of armor being here is reminding him of that fact.]

You just don't want to tell me because you don't want me to be sad.

[Plus he's pretty perceptive.]

[snacklist]

[He's kind of surprised Henry picked up on that, and a little saddened that he couldn't keep it from him for longer. But even back home if it was the right thing to do, he didn't shy from telling people the truth.

So he bends his head and... takes it off. Revealing the empty armour underneath, and the seal drawn in blood near the back of his neck.]

...Brother bound my soul to the armour.

[theboywiththebook]

[Henry looks inside and what he is hoping to see is the blond haired boy from Mother's day is actually nothing. Empty inside with a disembodied voice.

He's not scared though, but he is of course as expected, not happy about it. But he wants to know why Ed put his brother in a suit of armor.]

Why did he do that?

[snacklist]

[Sombrely, he replaces the helmet back where it should be, resting his elbows on his knees before replying.]

Something... happened, and I lost my entire body. Brother lost his leg, and then gave up his arm so that I could be transmuted to the armour. He saved my life.

[theboywiththebook]

[Okay, that's better than 'My brother stuck me in a suit of armor because he's evil.' Not by much because they had been hurt but better than being something even worse.]

And you guys are trying to find a way to get your bodies back in your world, right?

[snacklist]

M-Mm!

[He sits up a bit straighter. He might not be capable of showing emotions on this face, but his stance is radiating determination.]

We're not going to stop until we find a way!

[theboywiththebook]

[T-than why is he expression emotion now? Just look at that face!]

Mm, I believe it too. Any spell can be broken, so anything that happened to you can be fixed.

[Henry smiles. Oh what naive logic, but hey at least he's hopeful.]

But, how come you don't just go to the post office and exchange your armor for your body?

[snacklist]

[He thinks about explaining that it's not a spell, but he'll let it slide in favour of the other question.]

You lose something at the post office, and maybe I'd lose something really important like Brother or Winry... Or Mom.

Oh...yeah I can see how that wouldn't be good...sorry.

[snacklist]

We'll get our bodies back, but we're not going to endanger the things we care about to do it.

[theboywiththebook]

I'm sure you will. I believe in both of you.

[After all, Ed and Al are like his big bros...kind of.]

[snacklist]

So don't worry any more, okay?

[theboywiththebook]

I won't, just don't hide things anymore. You'll worry everybody that way.

[snacklist]

R-Right!

[Cue the cheesiest thumbs up it's possible for a suit of armour to give.]

[Just going to hug the huge suit of armor now.]

Good.

[O-Oh. He has so rarely been hugged in this body, and it still makes him sad that he can't feel it. But he does wrap his arms carefully around Henry in return.]

Mm.

[Well, he'll get all the hugs from Henry. Doesn't matter if he was in a suit of armor, he was still a person.]

[Eventually he pulls back a bit to rest his hand on Henry's head.]

I really like your castle.

[theboywiththebook]

[Looking up at the suit of armor, he smiles.]

Thanks, I thought I lost it forever.

[Regina takes away all his happiness.]

[snacklist]

You can get mostly anything back here.

[Even the stuff you don't want.]

[theboywiththebook]

Yeah, this place can do anything....
[But he sounds bitter as he says it.]
