I...couldn't catch everything that was said over the radio, but I was able to jot down the basics, for everypony that's interested:

(A slight rustling of papers before she clears her throat and reads aloud.)

Some kind of carnival...trying to hurt you...

Holes through Mayfield. I know, I'm...Mayfield...
I don't know if anyone heard this...
Get out of town now, for all our sakes...
...signing off."

And I believe I heard the name "Richard Grey" somewhere in there, but I can't be certain. Can anyone confirm this?

[Dist sounds distracted, mostly because he's writing as fast as he can. Damn being unprepared for the broadcast.]

I hope it can be useful. I missed a few things, but thankfully I've spoken with others and they've helped me fill in a few gaps.

If you don't mind me asking, do the names Zemeckis or Annie sound familiar to you?

Zemeckis, yes, but not Annie, unless you're referring to the werewolf. Zemeckis is commonly thought to be the controller if the town, hidden inside a little girl's body.

What information have you gathered?

I see...that's an odd decision, but I guess it's for the sake of holding up a disguise.

Well, apparently Richard Grey and Annie were both around during Mayfield's start, or at least long before I was here. They even have stores named after them, but it seems Richard was found dead several years ago during the Westport incident.

...I don't have anything about Grey in my Westport notes. What do you have on it? We might have to cross-reference.

On Westport? Not too much other than it apparently being a very bad time for others. People were trapped there for some time, but a lot of information was discovered there. Information regarding Mayfield and possibly its past.

I think a meeting of minds would benefit us both, then.

I had a particularly dangerous enemy until recently so I've hidden my notes, but I can retrieve a decent starter packet for you. Bring what you've collected to 1767 Beaver in about an hour and I'll show you.

[magicalrealist]

Not a problem. I'll see you in an hour.

(And once she hangs up the phone, Twilight will spend the next hour properly gathering her notes and findings and getting them properly organized. In exactly one hour after the deadline, there'll be a purple unicorn knocking on the door.)

[Wow, that was... punctual. When Dist answers the door, he actually doesn't see Twilight for a split second - he was looking at eye level.]

Ah, I didn't know you weren't going to be a person. Come in.

[Hey, he met Rarity that one time, the surprise wears off pretty fast.]

I wasn't able to gather everything I've written down, unfortunately. I was wounded when I packed the boxes so it'll take more time to go through them.

(Rarity's the real surprise of the bunch. Because she will never stop flirting.)

Just show me what you have, and look this over.

[He pulls a sheet of paper out of a folder.]

This is a good starter, though it's not up to date. I used to maintain a relevant timeline in my letter, but I cut it out. Things happen here very quickly; this is designed to only have incidents critical to understanding Mayfield, but even for a genius like me it sometimes becomes too much.

[He almost sounds tired as he says it.]

Sounds fair to me.

(Using her magic for levitation, Twilight trades the sheet of paper for her notes on Mayfield related things, the radio message and Westport. She reads through the paper with great intrigue as Dist speaks.)

This is very valuable information; I'm sure there are plenty in town who would love to know about this town's track record, so even this can paint a better picture of things than my notes.

...it must not have been easy to go through all of these things, though.
