[ Peeta spends his time running around the park. Today he has chosen to wear shorts, which show off his nice fake leg. What he couldn't figure out was how one day he was complete, and the next he was not. It didn't bother him, anyway, Finally, he stops running and takes a seat on a bench. ]

I guess you shouldn't really get used to anything good that you may get from this place. It doesn't really last.

[ You can hear his feet shuffling around in the background. He is trying to not sound disgruntled by the fact. Despite the fact that Haymitch is gone, he still thinks it is wisest for him to continue pretending. Be the best faker that he can be. Finally after several moments he says: ]

I made about a dozen cakes here. If anyone wants some, I'm on Topper Street.

Well, that's because Mayfield is a "come and go" type of place! Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's bad. And then there's those times where you think it's good, but it's only temporary -- which sucks a lot.

[.... and free food? Again? Haruhi won't pass out on that chance.]

And what kind of cakes are they? Chocolate? Strawberry? Ice cream?

Oh. Well, that sucks.

...You can make ice cream cake? [ He hasn't ever done anything like that before. ...]

Mostly chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla.

[She's had some before, so she knows that it's pretty tasty.]

Hmm... I'll go get one! After all, it's not good to put food to waste.

I'll have to learn.

[ Sounds delicious. ]

I agree, I don't want them to go to waste.

I like to work out, but right now I'm getting used to this again.

Not at all. I don't need any.

[ A small smile to show that he isn't bothered by the offer. It takes a lot more to take Peeta down. ]

I just got too comfy with how things were, I guess. Maybe the place won't bother giving me much else from home.

You could say that about anywhere. [So she's learned. There's a pause before she speaks again.]

[ ...Smiles, and immediately realizes she can't see it. ]

I am? You should come by for cake.

Where? [Because you don't have to ask her twice.]

[There's someone else who's jogging around too. It's a good way for her to work off her restlessness, the stagnant feeling she's been having for awhile. There hasn't been any process made to get out of Mayfield, she hasn't done anything, and it was starting to grate on her nerves. Yes, she saved people from zombies, and that was fine and all, but she should really be looking at the bigger picture: to get out of Mayfield.

As she makes a round, she notices someone else jogging around as well. She's never seen him before, but the fake leg catches her eye. He looked pretty young too; it's admirable that he doesn't let his handicap stop him. So when he stops to take a break she jogs over to him.]

Hey. I don't think I've seen you around here before.

[succorer]

[ What can he say, the Capitol does good work when it comes to their victors. Yes, it is noticable, but it doesn't really hold him back. It would have been much worse if it had been an incident before he was a victor. He's not shy or ashamed by the fact, though. He lost it fighting. He lost it saving Katniss.

He can be proud of it and wear it like a badge. He turns towards the woman who approaches, and smiles. ]

I'm out sometimes.

[ It had been awhile, about 2 weeks, though. He had to relearn everything. ]

But not recently. Not since the zombie thing, at least. Didn't want to risk it.

I can't say I've seen you around, either, though.

The town's pretty big. I'm still meeting new faces, and I've been here for six months.

[She extends a hand towards him.]
