08 Apple Crumble [Back-dated to Saturday Zombies]

Part A | Around 337 Brady Lane

[Well looky here. Zombies. This is just great. Applejack's seen Nightmare of the Dead before, and that was a good reference for the last time there was zombies swarming Mayfield. Last time Theo kept the house pretty safe from them too, so she figures this will probably a good place to keep an eye on things.

Most of her friends can probably handle this too. It's not like they're new or can't....

OH SWEET CELESTIA APPLE BLOOM IS HERE NOW!!

And now there's an orange blur as a pony runs out into the street.]

Goldarn it, this town just enjoys making things difficult, doesn't it?!

Part B | Anywhere in Town

[There is a frantic orange pony running down the streets. Occasionally she checks the street signs with nothing but a look of annoyance. So much so that at some point, she feels the need to shout her frustration.]

Why can't Ah find Stevens Road?!

Part C | Outside 2239 Stevens Road

[Applejack has finally made it to where her little sister said she lives at and is now trying to find her. This involves pounding on doors and shouting. Hope your housemates are understanding Apple Bloom!]

Apple Bloom? APPLE BLOOM?! You okay! Are you here? Oh please don't tell me she's out in the town during this...

Ooh! Ooh! What about over there?

[Looks like a few drones had been carrying a stack of plate glass windows before zombies forced them to flee and prop the convenient stack of plate glass windows against a trash can across the way.]

...When did they- You know what, never mind, that's perfect. Get ready to sneak away in the other direction, alright?

[Oh please let this work!]

[party_hard]

Okay!

[Pinkie takes aim, and she flings the ball at the target. Success! The windows shatter and the ball ricochets into the trash can and it's making quite the ruckus. The zombies nearby seem attracted to the noise.]

Okay, good, let's head out the other way, and we need to do it quietly so they don't notice us...

We can pick up speed once we're far enough away.

[party_hard]

[Pinkie salutes Applejack, and, for once, is quiet when she speaks.]

You got it!

[She's sneaking now, albeit in a rather exaggerated fashion. But hey, at least she's not screaming.]

[Applejack is right behind, basically lightly walking on the paved street to keep the sound of her hooves from being too loud... It looks like they'll be able to lose these zombies after all!]

[party_hard]

[Success! After a bit of sneaking away, it doesn't look like there are any zombies in the area!]

We made it!

Looks like it....

It looks like we're close to where Ah live too. Theo has these things set up, called them 'wards,' which keep zombies away. Maybe we should stop by there before I try to get to Stevens Road again...

Ooooh, that might be a good idea! We'd hit base and then they'd go play tag with somepony else!

This isn't exactly a game, Pinkie. Ah still need to check on Apple Bloom, but maybe Ah can get better direction back at home...

That might work! That's the part of town you're most familiar with, isn't it? It'll be easier to restart from there!

Right! Maybe even be able to get Theo to help if he's there. Ah've seen him handle zombies pretty well before, so he might be able to handle these ones...

And afterwards, we could have a post-zombie-fighting party!

If'n we survive...

Let's try not to count our chickens before they're hatched, Pinkie. Let's see about getting back to mah house first, alright?

[And more sneaking down the street as she says that! Least she knows the downtown area better than the house streets...]

Oh, don't worry, we'll make it!

[And she'll just follow right after Applejack while doing exaggerated "sneaking" poses and whatnot.]

[Applejack tries to hide a smile at Pinkie's movements, they're in some real danger here after all. But still, it's nice to know Pinkie is still Pinkie, no matter what...]

You're right, we'll be fine, come on, we're almost there.

[And indeed, they're on the street Applejack lives on.]

Hah, we beat those mean old zombies really well! Take that, zombies!

[And she'll blow a raspberry in the general direction from which they came.]

Sssh, Pinkie! We still have to leave the house to find Apple Bloom, and if Theo isn't there, we don't want a bunch of zombies blocking our way...

[party_hard]

Oh, come on, Applejack! We lost them! And it wasn't like I was THAT loud!

[downtoearthpony]

[It wasn't, but Applejack isn't taking any chances as they approach the house, looking for any signs of zombies...]

Well, it looks like everything is fine. Still be careful, alright?

[She heads over to the door to try and get it open. Hopefully it's been left unlocked.]

Of course I'll be careful!

[Pinkie's following after Applejack and sticking close. Fortunately, she's being quiet. She is, however, making a lot of exaggerated "sneaking secret agent" kind of poses as they go.]

[Applejack gets the door open and glances around the house.]

It doesn't seem like anybody is here at the moment... Least not that Ah can hear.

Let's grab anything we need and head out for where Apple Bloom's heading.

[She heads inside, holding the door open for her pink friend.]

[Pinkie trots right on inside.]

Do you think we should get more balls just in case we have another ball emergency? I know I hid a couple more not too far from here!

[Applejack glances outside one more time and then closes the door before answering.]

If they're on the way, we can try at least... Wish Ah could ask someone for better directions, but maybe we can find a map or something around here.

[Currently she's looking around the phone stand, seeing if there's any pamphlets or such in the piles of papers that seem to accumulate there...]

I'll be sure to pick some of them up once we're back on the move, then!

[Pinkie starts nosing around in the pile too, although she's not at all bothering to keep things neat.

In fact, a brochure of some sort is perched right on top of her head after a little bit of rummaging...perhaps it might be helpful? She doesn't seem to notice it's there, at any rate.]
