Today is a special day. A day where mothers are given the praise they rightly deserve for going the distance time and time again, as well as enduring the hardships men simply CANNOT handle. In all honestly, women should be wearing those britches the men are unable to fit.

Truth be told, I could care less about this holiday for my own personal reasons, but there are those that deserve a proper celebration, and how can I turn down a petty reason to celebrate~?

At the moment, it's seven in the morning. At noon, there will be a brunch for the mothers of Mayfield in my home at 1670 Nelson. Please keep in mind that I do reserve the right to refuse entry.

Don't worry. There will be spirits and other refreshments to enjoy~.

[At 1670 Nelson, Grell awaits with an open door, and classical music playing in the background. The food is probably store bought, since Grell is still improving on her cooking skills. The tea is made by her, though. It's not over-steeped this time!]

How lucky you must be, then, to have such gifts. [Grell smiles wistfully, feeling that green eyed monster starting to rear its ugly head from within her.]

I am. It wasn't ever something I planned on, but then there was LUke with nowhere to go... it was the best decision I ever made.

[Sarah Jane's a bit wistful herself. Even with having been home, it's been months since she last saw them.]

Each time we speak I rediscover a profound respect for you. Was Luke an orphan?

He was.

[She's gotten a feel for when it would be too complicated going into all the alien business]

Same with Sky.

They're quite lucky, then. Most orphans are forgotten about, or worse, from what I've seen.

They have a decent social services program in place in my time, but it's certainly always better for children to have an actual family.

Sometimes their own family isn't what a child needs.

Not necessarily the one they were born to, but it's good for children to have someone.

Luke's off at university now, but that doesn't make any of this any easier.

How fast they grow! Comparable to weeds, except the urge to KILL them.
