1st Moonrise

A.  305 Miller Street

[She knew something was wrong before she even opened her eyes.  She wasn't in her bed in Canterlot.  It felt like she was on the floor.  Why was she on the floor?  The princess's eyes opened and she saw walls far too close to her on all sides.  Where . . .

Princess Luna dove out of the little house she was in, only to hit the collar and chain that had her secured.  She was chained?  She tried to blast the chain off of the house, but her magic didn't work.  She couldn't unbuckle the collar with her magic, either.  Shock quickly turned to rage.

There is now a very pissed off winged unicorn pony in the backyard of 305 Miller yelling at the tops of her lungs while attempting to destroy the dog house she woke up in.]

Who dares to chain the princess of the night?!

B.  Around Town

[Having successfully escaped the dog house situation, Princess Luna is trying to figure out where in Equestria she is.  Unfortunately, the more she looks, the more confused she's getting.  There is a dark purple pony flying over Mayfield with an unusually long mane and tail and a very unhappy expression.  She can be also be found reading signs, attempting to interrogate drones, and generally trying to figure out what kind of place she has woken up in.]

Greater magic than anything we've seen before. They've taken all kinds of beings and brought them here, robbing them of their powers and forcing them to play a role in the mock families they arrange everypony in. You might be without your magic for now princess, but it will be returned to you in time.

(But wait a minute...here's when the conflict of canon points kicks in.)

Wedding? What wedding?

Shining got married?!

(She's technically hearing this for the first time.)

And he didn't tell me about it?! Who did he get married to?
magicalrealist: (Wanna run that by me again?)

(She takes a moment to compose herself. This news is a complete surprise to her, but she has to remember the rules of Mayfield.)

...from what I've heard, this place can pull people away from different spaces...and time frames. Mayfield must have brought you here from the future...well, the future from my perspective and the present from yours. It's really unsettling...

I-it's okay, Princess! I would've found out about it eventually, so you don't have to worry about that!

(That's something that'll bother Twilight for a long time, but that's just another problem to throw on to the pile.)

Things are very different here Princess, but the girls and I have been here long enough to know how things work, so we'll gladly help you out every way we can! I'm sure you must have plenty of questions, so I'll gladly answer them for you.
magicalrealist: (Allow me!)

(That's definitely for the best. She doesn't need to know about Chrysalis and her changelings just yet.)

Then I think it'll be best to tell you the basics.

This place is called Mayfield, a town capable of ponynapping beings from various different worlds and universes; Equestria just so happened to be one of them. There's no limit to who they can take, including gods and anthropomorphic representations of death itself. Everypony's powers are taken away at first, but by enduring the events thrown out roughly every month, possessions and powers are returned to us one at a time.

Most of the non-ponies you'll see here are called "humans;" they look very strange, but we ponies share a surprising number of similarities with them.
magicalrealist: (No worries bro.)

From what they've told me, the worlds they're from don't have ponies like us at all: they can't talk, use magic or manage their own society like we can. They're not as intelligent as we are or as colorful, but they exist in other worlds.

Like us, humans are capable of maintaining societies and creating things much like we can. However, most of them can't do magic and their worlds are automatic; the sun and moon rise and set on their own, the seasons change on their own and have a much stronger favor towards science than magic, but somehow they're able to keep things moving.
