A. Ai is ...a little nervous, standing outside Sluggers house. Knocks on the door. She can actually remember not to randomly appear in peoples houses. ...sometimes.

B. In the park, by the fountain, making a paper boat armada. One of them seems to be on fire as it sails the seas of the fountain.

C. Sitting on the grass in the park. A black cat is sleeping next to her and she's throwing  a ball for a dog to retrieve.]

[It misses and rolls out of the circle. Maru, suddenly very awake, jumps down to chase after it.]

He probably wants everyone in the town to fight. [a sigh] I don't think he can hurt my mom again, but if he finds a way...

[Susan is very important to Slugger, therefore if something happens to her, hell fire is always an option.]

[Uh-oh, no no no. Slugger shakes his head.] Don't draw his attention to yourself, Ai.

...But thanks. [His hand finds hers and rests upon it and he smiles just a bit. Maru is still batting the marble around the room, eventually making his way back around to where Slugger and Ai are sitting.]

[He knows. And he's happy for it. Slugger squeezes her hand then releases it.]

[Whenever she releases the marble, it captures the attention of Maru who darts after it looking much like a furry windsock.]

Maru! [Slugger reaches to catch him but it's too late and the marbles have already been scattered.]
