I'm not sure this is the same machine from last time... But whatever that is, it seems to be sucking all of the light out of the place, if that's even possible.

-The light ball having failed, Virginia redraws the Rapier EX, holding both guns at the ready.-

[Nina walks forward, towards the glowing, her gun drawn. She's ready to fire if necessary, although she doesn't quite yet. As she gets nearer and nearer to the source of the glowing, she calls out.]

Hello? Is anyone there?

[Lithuania winces at Nina calling out. Someone is supposed to be here, and it's not anyone he wants knowing they're there. He'll follow her, though.]

With all it was talked about on the phone yesterday, they might have known we were coming.

[A bit more cynically, and mumbled:] Assuming this entire thing isn't a trap.

[The glow is coming from a translucent forcefield; within it is what appears to be an enormous steel vat hooked up to an electric generator. Taped to the front is a sign with the words DO NOT TOUCH scrawled on it.]

[Nina gasps. She didn't see the vat for herself in April, but she heard all the stories. This matches all the descriptions she heard. There's a sudden sick feeling in the bit of her stomach.

The first thing she'll do is radio anyone staying behind at the bakery.]

[She fires off two shots, directly at the force field.]

[His tone is sharp, and he's going to go take a flashlight and see if there's anything else in this room instead of firing at machines that do who-knows-what.]

[The shots fire at the machine. It smokes and sparks, before going back to normal, but the humming is a little more quiet.]

-Virginia drops Grudiev's barrier, focusing her pistols on the same point Nina's bullet struck and firing.-

[Lithuania doesn't fire; better to save at least some of the bullets for any potential assault. Not only that...]
