[ Satou's gotten used to living with a bunch of drones. She's been waking up early (read: crazy early) to make herself a non-dronetastic breakfast and pack lunch before her drone mother wakes up, so that's what she's doing now. Oblivious to the fact that she has new housemates who aren't drones.
Though some of the ingredients she's used to using aren't there and there are some things she's never seen before, Satou finishes cooking and sets the table for four... then goes off to wake up her family members. You'll be getting a knock on your door before a really annoying magical girl lets herself in. ]

Then if she decides to go to prom she'll have a lot of people to talk to. Ah, so you know Alphonse Elric? I've heard of them, but I never met them. However, I do have an interest in alchemy and I'm quite knowledgable about it. May I ask what you specifically want to know? Perhaps I can be of aid. [ Oh. this is a lovely gift from the gods! ] The library wouldn't have any information on it. Alchemy doesn't exist here, but their technology is more advanced.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Satou. I'm Solaris. The philosophical elements in alchemy... [ she pauses, as is she's carefully deciding what to say next. ] Do you mean the elements themselves, or the process or applications of alchemy? Like the cycle?

[ She nods, clapping her hands together. ] Both! The cycle might be a good place to start! Al-san makes it sound very much like the ouroboros! [ She makes a circular motion with one finger to illustrate her point. ]

The ouroboros? Mind going into detail about that? [ HEY THAT SOUNDS LIKE THAT TATTOO SHE HAS ON HER CHEST. ] Anyways, for the cycle. It's comprised of three parts. Destruction, reconstruction, and comprehension. You have to understand the material you're working with in order to transform it by transferring or altering energy. Then, with destruction, you break down the physical structure to reform it. With reconstruction, you just reshape the object you previously destroyed and voila! Those are the basics of alchemy!

That's exactly correct. [ Smug smiling because, HEY, her tattoo does have its symbolism. It's a shame she'll never see it, but it's nice to be acknowledged. ] It's like energy. You never create it or lose it, you just transfer it. Alchemy in and of itself is a contradiction of sorts. You could most likely create it, but you'll probably need a tutor.
