[ Satou's gotten used to living with a bunch of drones. She's been waking up early (read: crazy early) to make herself a non-dronetastic breakfast and pack lunch before her drone mother wakes up, so that's what she's doing now. Oblivious to the fact that she has new housemates who aren't drones.

Though some of the ingredients she's used to using aren't there and there are some things she's never seen before, Satou finishes cooking and sets the table for four... then goes off to wake up her family members. You'll be getting a knock on your door before a really annoying magical girl lets herself in. ]

Good morning, sleepyhead! It's morning! Morning time is now! Time to wake up and smile all day, again~!

[ Are you a boy? Or a teacher? You poor soul. Between classes, Satou is summoning her courage to locate adults and boys her age. And after another burst of courage, approaching them and tapping their shoulders. ] Excuse me? Are you busy after school today, by any chance? [ Someone wants to abuse your section of the library. ]

[ Alternatively, Satou has told herself that she's allowed to have friends in Mayfield. Not just that, but she should be allowed to have a lot of friends. Then if she decides to go to prom she'll have a lot of people to talk to. So if you're a girl at school, no matter who you are or how unfriendly you may seem to be, Satou will pester you between classes. ] Um... um, excuse me! I'm Satou! um... Hey, let's be friends! [ And let's also get straight to the point.

And if you already know Satou then never fear!  She's essentially on autopilot after the first three encounters and will approach even people she knows, asking them to be friends as if they'd never met before. ]

[ She takes the appropriate step back. It's still strange for people to care. And it's hard to accept permission to turn to him. Being selfish like that just proves that her title isn't a mistake. ]

... Yeah. Okay. Thank you, Alphonse-san. The same to you, ne? [ She reaches up to pat his head, smiling calmly. ] And it's "Satou". Just Satou is fine.

R-Right, then you can call me just Al too, okay?

[Now that this seems settled and she knows to come to him if she's in real trouble, the nerves are coming back. But Brother would tell him just to do it, and maybe hit him for being such a wuss, so he clears his throat purposefully.]

Um, Satou? Are you going with anyone to the prom?

... Yeah. Okay, Al-san! Thank you so much!

[ Now Satou's in a very good mood, so Al suddenly seeming a bit nervous throws her for a loop. The question is a bit saddening, since Satou knows 'someone like her' can't hope to get a date. And she's quite confident that if she goes to the prom she'll just end up alone and forgotten. ]

Nope! Not at all! Are you, Al-san?

[He's pleased to hear she's not going with anyone, that's a definite good start. But what if she says no? His mouth is a little dry, palms of his hands clammy.]

Yes-- I mean no! I mean... that depends.

[ She jumps a bit. That was unexpected. Her smile fades and she gives him an almost worried look. ]

U-um that depends... would you like to go with me? [ She worries that he's just pitying her. ]

[The worried look and loss of a smile was not the reaction he was hoping for, and he looks a little plaintive and worried.]

[He flushes a little, looking into her eyes steadily.]

I want to go with you more than anyone else.

[ She turns away, ashamed to realize she's probably blushing. This shouldn't make her feel so embarrassed. ]

[At least they match, because Al is definitely blushing, though there's a massive grin on his face now.]

R-Right! I won't! Um... regret it, I mean. I won't regret it. And you won't either.

[ Her smile brightens and she nods, managing to look him in the face... though she can't bring herself to look him in the eyes yet. ]

Mm! I already know I won't regret it, ever. Thanks so much! [ She takes a deep breath... then she reaches out to take his hands, managing to look him in the face seriously. ] Definitely! Thank you very much! I'll repay you properly, I promise!

[...She's holding his hands. He's bright red now, but smiling as he squeezes them back shyly.]

You don't have to repay me, it's not an obligation. We'll have fun, okay?

[ Her obnoxious excitement comes under control. Guilty for a moment of not seeing Al in front of her, but someone from home. She nods in agreement. ]

Y-yes then... then let's have fun. I know we will. Thanks so much... [ ... Oh wait, why is she holding his hands? Why is she being so rude and bold? He's going to start hating her if she keeps that up!

Satou looks away, loosening her grip. ] S-sorry um-!!! Library... Th-though I guess I've troubled you enough for one day!

R-Right! The library!

[He's just as guilty of thinking he might have liked to take May to this prom, but Satou is so nice and he knows they'll have a good time.]

Lets go now, okay?

Y-yes, of course! Thank you so very much!

[ She bows, as that's the Wapanese thing to do, and looks down the hallway. ]

The girl's section of the library isn't very helpful... Have you ever seen anything useful in your section? Anything at all could do for improving my magic. [ This being about all she does with her life now, apparently. ]

[He thinks for a few moments, but he's forced to shake his head.]

I'm sorry, most of the books in the library for boys are about camping and fishing.

Oh-! Really? No no no, those are absolutely perfect for magic! When I regain my practical abilities then those will be fantastic!

[ Her dorky smile is back as she considers the possibilities. ] Besides, knowing how to camp properly will be really helpful back home! Camping is warm, right?

Camping and fishing are useful for magic?

[Um, what? He doesn't really understand that...]

Mmm-hmm! Magic is all about shortcuts! I can only do things with my magic that my emotions could accomplish without it. Magic is just about making the things I want to do happen as quickly as possible. So if I want to make fish appear with magic, I first need to know how to normally go out and catch a fish with my bare hands.

[ Ramble ramble. Satou loves magic, if he can't already tell. ]

Humans are absolutely amazing.

That's pretty clever! And it's good to make sure you know it beforehand, it stops anyone doing anything really bad with magic, right?

[Except she said she knew how to blow things up. That's not at all worrying.]

[ Dammit Al, you are being so much like her Shugo that Satou doesn't want to answer truthfully. Just keep you oblivious forever... but he's not Shugo. To remind herself, Satou decides to go ahead and be truthful. ]

It's not entirely true. Unfortunately, while humans are capable of wanting miracles, they are also capable of wanting disasters... [ The Witch of Sins knows that all too well. ] But yes. It does help a bit. The prices for our magic are also helpful when preventing bad things from happening.

[ And no. Explosions aren't bad at all~. ]

[He knows all too well what men are capable of... Ishval, Hohenheim, Tucker. But it doesn't dampen his smile at all, he knows that even if there are bad witches then there must be good ones too.]

[ There's a split second where she almost continues to be honest. Her reasons for practicing magic are terrible. The things she's done with her magic are terrible. The title that defines her existence is so terrible... ]

Because catching poor fishie-sans from the river actually sounds kind of mean! I shouldn't go taking the poor things away from their fishie-san-families! So maybe I shouldn't get books on fishing!

[He can't help but chuckle, holding his hands up to stop her.]

It's okay to catch fish if you need to eat, survival is important and not being afraid of taking nourishment as long as you're giving back is a lesson my teacher taught me. All is one and one is all.

Ehehe... I guess that's true. [ Sob, the things that empathy does to your judgment. ] Fishing might not be bad to learn then... but if I can help it, I don't want to make the fish-sans sad...
