[Poison Joke] a glow, and then a shine...
[ 20 April, Afternoon, the front garden of 1490 Kramden Road ]
[ The front lawn has been making the slow transition from carpet of green to a plot ready to plant. Ilsa has been adding the seedlings from the kitchen window as they are hardy enough.
However, this morning while leaving to go to work, she spotted something she did not plant in the beds. It did not conform to anything she knew, and at her lunch break, she had checked the library references which had no more information on the plant.
So this afternoon, she changed into her halter top and shorts, and started weeding. She has been careful enough to wear gloves, and to put them in a bucket for disposal, but that doesn't stop them from affecting her. She hasn't noticed that her shadow now includes bat-wings, of sufficient span to be useful.... ]
[[ OOC: Ilsa has been affected by the Poison Joke! Feel free to just be in the neighborhood and point out her new attributes. ]]

And then stops.]
Ilsa! You've got, you've got... Nyaaaaaaaa!
no subject
What, I've got dirt all over? That's what happens when you garden, Nyanpire.
[ Nope she hasn't noticed, yet. ]
no subject
[He points dramatically.]
WINGS!
no subject
[ She looks over her shoulder. ]
...I'm not supposed to have those yet!
no subject
[From confused shock to just plain confusion. He stops pointing, and then carefully pads over.]
Are you a vampire, too, nyaa?
no subject
Not a vampire, hon. But they do look like my daddy's wings.

[Stands there, examining the wings in the fine bright sun, and says,]
Oh, sweet lightning, what next, Mayfield?
Better you than me, love. [Shudder] Much better you than me.

What's that, 'bibi?
[ Then she turns to look over her shoulder. ]

Re: 2 of 2
Wings. And I suspect they're functional, here in Mayfield. [Grimaces. He does NOT like flying.] Lucky you.
It may make sleep a bit difficult, though. Not to mention getting in the way when you're cooking: they'll knock things all over the place in the kitchen, I should think.
no subject
I-I'm not supposed to have them for several decades, yet... if at all. I shouldn't have j-just the wings if it happens....
[ Her wings contract, in response to her distress, as she casts about for an exit route. ]
no subject
Hush, schatzi, hush. Do you need to go in--or give those wings a try in the open air? I'm sure we can get Nall to fly with you.
no subject
[ She frowns, thinking. ] I didn't get any mail today, so I don't think this is permanent. At least, not without everything else....
[ It sounds almost as if she's trying to reassure him. ]

Ilsa... I don't suppose you've glanced at your shadow recently?
no subject
[ She glances over her shoulder. ]
Oh, ye jigs and juleps, [ She runs her fingers through her hair, and her tongue over her teeth. ] just the wings, though?
no subject
Do you know how--?
no subject
[ She picks up the bucket, moving it to the driveway. ]

no subject
Careful, the bucket is going to be hot for a little bit.
[ There's not even ash left in it. ]
