case 4: Henshin/Hero

[sinistraljoker]

[Action A: 3472 Erwin Road. Locked to housemates.]

[Shoutaro is cleaning a bit on his porch, when he spots a box next to the stoop. He picks it up, spotting his name on it.]

Could this be...?

[He dashes inside to open it up...]

[Action B: John Doe Park: Open]

[Shoutaro is standing in the middle of the park, looking around. He wants to make sure there aren't any people nearby.]

It didn't look damaged...but I should take precautions before needing to use this...

[Since the Lost Driver he received is as garage-made-looking as it looks...and he isn't anywhere near technologically-capable to actually CHECK the driver...he has to test it out. There is literally no way he can really truly just check it.]

Here goes....

[He clicks the Joker Memory.]

Henshin!

[JOKER!]

[Hajime appears to be trying to shake off the effects of that last hit, but he soon comes back in with another low kick.]

[Blocking with his sore upper arm, Shoutaro pushes back the kick and lashes forward with another punch.]

[The punch connects solidly with one of Hajime's shoulders, and he backs off. It looks somewhat like he's trying to shake off the effects of that punch. He circles for a moment before coming in with another punch at Shoutaro's head.]

[That one was too fast, and Shoutaro takes it, his head ringing a bit.]

That clinches it...

[He starts bringing a bit of the heat, his arms glowing a very pale purple as he swings back.]

[Oh, hey, that's not exactly good. Hajime's not fast enough to dodge that hit, and it sends him flying. It's taking him a bit longer than before to get up, but he's slowly pulling himself to his feet.]

[Shoutaro's eyes widen a bit, and he snatches the memory out of the driver and unlocks it, letting it fall to the ground.]

I...*huff*...think we're done. I think I'm not used to the memory anymore. It's influence is creeping in.

[Hajime grunts in agreement. He runs a card through his belt.]

SPIRIT

[And with that, he's human again. He's kind of stretching and flexing his shoulders a bit, shaking off the effects of that hit. He didn't know Shoutaro could do that. When he speaks, his tone's dry.]

Believe me, I have some idea of what feeling a Joker's influence during a battle might entail.

I don't doubt that.

[He might now have a dopant-ized version of the Joker Undead running around in his head. He shakes off the delusion before it gets too far.]

Maybe the last month away from it caused some side-effect? I'd really have to ask Phillip about it.

That's possible...not like I know all that much about your Memories.

[He looks thoughtful.]

You might want to work your tolerance for it back up before the town throws something really dangerous at us.

Going off of my own experiences, it might help to get into a few more fights in it, too...you might be perfectly fine when not under attack, but things can change quickly when you're facing an enemy.
