[Oh hey what's that on your roof?

Depending on the time of day and how much snow is on it, it could be a.) absolutely nothing, b.) a raven of slightly unusual size skidding down it like a penguin or c.) a six-foot woman with gigantic raven wings on her back rolling down the roof and making remarkably ravenlike cawing sounds.

Utsuho has discovered snow! Again. She probably should be doing something else but she's...pathetically easy to distract sometimes.

Whenever she's knocked down one rooftop's supply of snow, the hell raven lazily flaps off to the next to start the process all over again. It might be your roof next! Or your neighbor's. She's pretty flexible.]

[All that noise coming from the roof sounds like someone's holding a pro wrestling match on top of the house. Which obviously bears investigation!]

[And stepping out from under the porch to look up at the roof, Balin gets a big thick wad of snow right on his face.]

[In the middle of trying to get the snow off his face and out of his shirt, he overhears the cawing coming from the roof. He'd ponder why it sounds less like a bird and more like a woman trying to imitate a bird, but holy crap this is cold can't think straight.]

[Rolling somewhat to a stop, this time turning perpendicular to the edge of the roof so she can curl her hands over the side and her wings draped over the gutters.]

Why are you standing there? You're not supposed to stand there.

[Rin's in her humanoid form because she doesn't like getting her fur wet or her paws cold - but that turns out to be a useless tactic as a pile of snow abruptly falls on her as she leaves her house.

She lets out a catlike screech and shakes herself off furiously, looking upward toward the offender.

When she sees it's Okuu, she just sighs, her anger all but forgotten, and waves to get her attention.]

Oy! Okuu!

[Okuu rolls to her feet and flutters downwards.]

There's this crunchy water stuff everywhere!

Yeah, it's called snow. It usually happens aboveground, but sometimes it'll even snow in the streets down in Hell! Once we go back home, if Miss Satori will give ya a break next time it happens I can take ya to see it.

[She pauses here to brush away a small patch of snow from her hair - clearly, she didn't get rid of all of it when she shook herself off.]

...then actually stops and looks around to see who exactly she was agreeing with.]

[The thumping on the roof didn't bother Dakki at first. She had been knitting. It required a bit of focus and concentration, especially because she was consulting a book to ensure that she was doing a particular stitch right. But the thumping continued, to the point that she could no longer ignore it.

It was probably a bad idea to ignore thumping, in this town. So with a sigh she set the knitting down, popped a head out the door to see what she could see, and then backed away from the house to see just what was on the roof.]

...ah! A bird? A bird! [She laughs and calls out to it.] Are you having fun, bird?

[It would seem so!

The raven slides off the eave of the roof like a feathery toboggan, straight at her new spectator.

At least in this form she doesn't weigh that much.]

[Oh dear. Incoming bird! Which she hadn't realized was incoming until all she could do was reach out to try and catch it.]

Ooof!

[It was a bird that had gotten some momentum going.]

Easy now! Careful!

[And she'd be quick to let go, if the bird made a fuss about being caught.]

[Tsubaki heard the commotion at her neighbor's house, and made it outside in time to see the raven hop onto the roof of her house and skid down it, sending a sheet of snow raining down the edge of said roof.]

You're an unusual raven.

[THIS IS JUST SO MUCH FUN.

Though the raven stops when she gets back to the top of the roof again, turning to face the source of the voice.

A perfectly normal raven, of course. Except for the red eyes, atypical behavior and the fact that she seems to have three legs (though the "third" looks a bit spindly and more like a stray foot than anything).]

[She's been here long enough to know she's not the only one around who can transform into something that isn't exactly human. And that is obviously no normal raven.]

Are you able to transform, or are you a pet?

[Somewhere before the eaves of the house she stops, shaking the accumulated snow off of her head and in general acting like she did absolutely nothing wrong.

She's used to seeing floaty people.]

[The Captain is used to weird people. Even before he came to Mayfield, they were pretty common.]

[Well... that's a different sight. One that he'll just give a whistle to to catch her attention and places both hands behind him.]

I see you're having fun today. Is the cold not even effecting you at all?

[She had just fluttered back up to the peak of the rooftop when the whistle caught her attention.]

No! Not really.

[...at least not right now. She would probably deny she ever said such a thing later in the day.

(Birds...why does it always have to be birds? A raven, no less! Past experiences told Django that they didn't like him very much, attacking him on sight and dodging all of his attacks with flair. He's hesitant towards possibly enticing its wrath, but that rushed snowball flying towards Okuu has already sealed his fate...unless it whiffs. Maybe. )

[Okuu's sledding is interrupted! Her wings flare out and she squawks and stops ad flails in place, rather startled. SHE HAD NOT SEEN THAT COMING.

Not as sarcasm, either; Okuu really is that unobservant sometimes. Like now.]
