Mission: 003

-Dynamo had become very cross with recent events... in the ways of various pranks pulled on him. He despised water, ever since his systems seemed to glitch when struck by a water based attack. So when he was struck multiple times with water spells, or traps, or... hoses... water balloons, he became sorely annoyed. It didn't help either when his hair was changed into rainbow colors as the result of falling in a kiddie pool of... rainbow water.

That boggled him a bit... but then someone shaved it all off when he was doing that sleeping thing that humans do. He wasn't a happy camper.

When he awoke, back in his bed, he grumbled and began to go about his daily morning routine. Upon fetching the paper he spotted, a package! Opening it, he was startled when his frame was reverted back into that reploid body of his. Of course he hit the door frame because he wasn't expecting such a thing to happen...

At least he had his hair back.-

Action: Around town!

-One fairly tall reploid is now stalking the streets. If he recognizes you from the pranking earlier in the week, it's best you steer clear of him. If you're one of the few to have crossed his path when he was a normal human, feel free to notice his taller, armored frame!-

I wield all sorts of things, if you give them to me! [Oh! There was the beaming again!] But I put a lot of effort into earning my license for double saber use, and it's my favorite.

...hm, but we could still have a practice fight sometime. Maybe with training weapons? Maybe just hand to hand?

[Beam! BEAM!]

You know... that sounds like it'd be a challenging yet, fun idea.

After all... it would be interesting to see how I would fare as a ... regular reploid. The basic ones that mimic humans all too well and have no weapon systems of their own.

It is interesting, to compare your capacities here to your regular ones. Skill will compensate somewhat for the physical changes, I've found.

[Reploid, that's what his kind of artificial life form were called. She'd be sure to remember it. And maybe ask some questions. But for now...]

...are you busy? Do you have any plans for the next little while? The park's not far away, so....

-He idly tapped his finger on his chin.-

I didn't have any plans of my own today... so if you're not busy, then I think we could arrange some manner of training.

I'm not busy at all. [Oh, this was going to be so great. She takes a few steps backwards, generally park-wards, before turning herself about to walk properly.]

Let's go, then! I want to see what you've got!

-He did in fact begin to follow. After all... this whole thing may be useful to him in the future.-

[The park really wasn't that far away.... Mayfield was hardly huge. Although Dakki continued to trek further in, somewhat off the beaten path and well out of the way of stray drone kids or looky-loos.]

So, Dynamo... you said you're a reploid. Where I'm from, we're called CASTs. I wonder what sort of differences there are? Do you have any pseudo-organic components? Or are you completely inorganic?

[Aaaand then she stopped. It was a spot with fairly even ground, and some trees keeping them both a bit out of sight.]

...here. This should be a good spot for it.

-He found he had to walk a bit slower, being a bit taller than Dakki. He was rather curious, that they seemed so different and yet similar-

CASTs? Hm... an interesting term.

-He looked around and nodded as they came to a stop.-

Might I ask if it stands for something? ... oh, and we're inorganic. We replicate many... human qualities though.

[Dakki was a reasonable 5 foot 10 herself, with a wide stride, but she made sure to either slow or hasten her pace to keep up properly with him. Such interesting construction he had, though. Such a similar aesthetic to some RAcasts and HUcasts she once knew.]

It's not an acronym, but the term's been in use for so long that no one's really clear on what its real origin is. Record keeping was spotty on Coral, with all the wars and fighting... and the civilization in the Gurhal system has had us around for more than five hundred years. Some people theorize it's something to do with being... "cast in the image of" humans.

[His answer fascinates her even further. It's not quite time to fight yet...]

In what way? Can you eat and drink? I know you've got emotion and expression down pat. [She laughs a bit awkwardly. It shouldn't ever have to be said... it's really kind of rude.]

-He nodded to her and placed a hand upon his hip.-

That makes sense. Guess the same can be said for reploids... replicas of humans. Sort of. Only better.

-Something about her had him wanting to know more about her own kind. Must've been mere curiosity.-

'Course we can eat and drink. Somewhere along the line food gets broken down into some manner of fuel and I guess some more technical things. We also... sleep. Sort of. Depending on the location I suppose. Guess you can say we fall in love and know when we're hurt and all that as well.

-He waved a hand dismissively.-

Better? [...but she wasn't sure she really wanted to hash out matters of artificial life forms declaring their definite superiority. Not when there was fun to be had, and better questions to ask. And so much curiosity to go around.]

We can, too. Our pseudo-organic components digest them in a rudimentary manner. A photon reactor powers the rest of our components, though. We sleep, too. And we can opt to dream. Although we can go for as long as a week without having to do so, if we want.

...I suppose we fall in love and feel things, too. Maybe not as strongly as a human. And it's popular to pretend that you don't, that you're superior to all of that dirty organic stuff.

[She mirrors his dismissive wave.]

Aren't we supposed to be sparring?

Yeah. Better.

-Somewhere, he was burned by a human. Didn't seem to trust them all to well after that and looked down upon them ever since. Sad situation really! Though that wasn't important.-

Dirty organic stuff, indeed...

Well, of course! They say "Ladies first"... so, start us out then?

[Dakki made a non-committal noise. The step after deciding you were "better" than someone often involved passing laws and revoking rights and making a mess of things.

But he was just one CA... one reploid. Far away from all of home's problems. So she squared her shoulders and slipped into a ready stance.]

Unarmed combat, then? Alright!

[And then she kicked off and cleared the space between them, coming in with a fast, simple opening middle punch.]

-He watched her carefully... and bent his knees just slightly. When she came in quickly, he brought a hand up to block her punch in his own fist and shifted his weight to the right. He was hoping to knock her off balance as he moved away.-

[A blocked blow was always to be followed up on. She had another arm and another fist so she was already throwing another punch, coming in for his lower mid-section. Which missed, seeing as his weight shifted.

That just made her grin, though. She jabbed an elbow upwards, relentless on the attack.]

-He was somewhat impressed by her fighting skills! Then again, he was impressed by himself, for holding his own grown without his weapon systems. He took the strike and leapt backwards, letting go. As bulky as his armor looked, he was rather quick to move.

He rushed in and brought his leg up to perform a kick, which would've been much more impressive if his boosters in his boots were working, but as such... he was easily read in his next attack.-

[He was fast! Dakki had to wonder how much of it was superior reflexes, how much was actual armor weight, and how much was raw strength.

Well, maybe not that last one, what with the kick he just threw at her. It was a damned impressive kick, impacting her in the side with enough force that she could feel it through her armor. She grunted and stumbled slightly, but was immediately side-stepping and trying to circle around him and reposition.]

-He balanced himself and cocked his head in her direction. Hopefully that kick wasn't too heavy of a hit. Be a shame if she was out of it already. Though he waited, and remained on guard.-

What?

[What was with that look? Was he worried about hurting her? Nice of him to do so, but they were supposed to be hitting each other.]

It's still on!

[Oh hey, have a roundhouse kick. Which she suspects he'll be able to counter just fine... but she wants to see it.]

-Well she did have the fighting spirit, that was for sure. He calmly brought up an arm to block the kick.. and in doing so he pushed against that kick. Apparently he was making up for his lack of weapon systems by sheer strength. He would stand his ground.-

[Dynamo did have almost two feet of height on her. Sometimes, just being bigger was enough to make a difference. It wasn't enough to make Dakki stop the fight, though... She moved with the force of his block, planted her foot back on the ground and was after him with a series of quick jabs.]

...you're fantastic! Even just like this!

-Having watched her carefully, he was quick enough to bring his arms up to block each punch she brought up to him. With each punch she jabbed at him, he took a step back.-

... Why, thank you!

-Finally he went to snag one of her fists with his hand to pause in her constant hits.-

[Dakki had come into this with the intent of showing herself off. She hadn't expected that someone with missing systems would be able to give her such a solid run for her money! But it wasn't the least bit discouraging. Now she was burning to prove her strength to him.]

You're welcome!

[She twisted her wrist and reached in with her other hand to grapple him by the arm. Her smile sharply twisted into a grimace, as she exerted all of her strength into an attempt to twist him into a simple hold. Knowing the right angle and the right pressure only got you so far, if you couldn't move the damn target in the first place.]

-To be fair, he wasn't expecting it. Sure, it took just the right amount of strength, but pulling him into a stumble... was enough to count as a victory. He did in fact twist around and regain his footing. It was also fairly obvious in his own movements that he was pushing against her so he would remain on his own two feet.

[That... that was encouraging. So encouraging. The last time she tried that one, she had been human and she had been fighting Thor, of all people. And it had failed spectacularly.

Her grip on his arm tightened briefly.]

I'd say Reploid base specs are impressive!

[And then she let go, retreating several steps but not dropping out of a combat-ready pose.]

...but even without all your systems, you can't be blueprint-standard... can you?
