I only do so as a matter of self-defense. Do you remember the ghost and slime event that passed recently? Hajime here got covered in slime; he tried to kill me and he had half the kitchen try to kill me. The explosion was to protect myself.

I'll confess to blowing up the tailor's during that event, but it was to save a man's life and prevent the haunted materials from strangling him to death and ensure our escape. The building was empty before I blew it up.

(She's making YOU the bad guy, Hajime. You're clearly the bad guy here.)

I keep telling you, I couldn't help that. The slime was making me do crazy things that day. And I had no control over the kitchen; once that slime started vomiting out from the sink, everything started to try to kill us on its own.

Really, all I did was smash the dishes.

N-No more please. I'll ask Ciel to look over the situation. She may have questions for both of you or she may ignore it altogether.

[Her eyes went blank for a second as she conferred with Merem psychically. Finally, she sighed and held her head in her hand.]

If you go anywhere with me, you will probably regret that decision somehow.

So you are saying we should wait here for yours and Ciel's approval to determine whether or not we're a threat? It's as if we're being given a lose-lose ultimatum. Is that what you're hearing as well, Hajime?

(No insults this time! HOW RARE)

[He's got his arms crossed now, and he nods, scowling. His body language is becoming a little more aggressive. Frankly, he knows he's a threat and doesn't need to be told anything.]

I'm hearing something very similar, yes.

[His arms are still crossed, and he nods.]

Hajime scowls and nods in agreement with Kreutzer.]

[Sob. She starts walking off toward the Church.]

(Kreutzer and Hajime follow her to the church.)

((Hajime-mun is going to bed now, so he'll be on autopilot the whole time; Kreutzer was going to be doing the talking for both of them, anyway. Is that alright?))

[That's fine.

And the girl gestures them through the door of the Church, not offering ot go inside herself.]

(Kreutzer holds her tongue from making any remarks about demons; she knows of metaphors about not taking out aggression on messengers. As such, she and Hajime enter the church.)

[No noise from the girl. She's already vanished and returned as Merem's arm.

As for Merem, he's sitting on the podium where the Priest would normally give his sermons.]

(The pair make their approach to Merem with several of Kreutzer's dolls flying alongside them.)

Merem Solomon, I presume?

That would be my name. And you need not explain the story. I know it all already.
