[Just another day at school for Ako, and she's working on a project. It seems like nonsense but she's working on home ec stuff at the moment. You'd think a kid of her age wouldn't know much about it, but she's sewing stuff right now, working with thread and needle.]


2. [Anywhere]

[Ako's out for a walk, humming to herself as she wanders around town. She wants to get a feel for the area in her civilian form, instead of hiding out as Muse. Dodory is hiding in her jacket as well.]

That's good I guess...

I haven't really met much of the family I'm meant to be staying with. I mean, there was a woman who pretty much forced me into the school but she... just wasn't quite right. I can't explain it.

Supposedly there's also a man and some kind of animal living there but I haven't really met them yet...

They're called drones. People who have been brainwashed into being residents. Sometimes it happens to non-drones if you miss a lot of "duties" like work or school.

Now I'm actually glad that she made me go to school...

But now that you mention it... when I first got here, someone told me they'd taken away my brain and I'd gotten it back. Or something like that...

Any powers, special abilities that isn't learned, are taken away and regained later from the postman. I don't know what the qualifications of getting that are but that's how it is.

Do you know where the post office is? Maybe they could tell us.

[For a while he doesn't say anything, small talk was never his best skill. Being so early in the year it's quick to get dark and he keeps anxiously checking his watch for the time.]

Huh? Oh, no. I was just thinking, if this is a dangerous place then it's probably not safe to be out after dark.

Never mind.

I just don't want to be outside when it gets dark, that's all. I starts pretty early in the winter.

I worry about getting lost in town, but you've been here longer than me so you probably know the way.

I've gotten to know a bit of the town. After a while it gets easier to navigate. [Leads towards the right area of town.]

I always see you leaving for school in the mornings but I never see you at school. I thought you said they'd drone people who didn't go.

[He doesn't seem to realise that they probably go to different schools because of the age gap]
