Mission: 001

[Action: 1650 Albright]

-It was an odd sensation for him as he slowly woke up. He hadn't recalled going down for stasis, and as he took in his surroundings, he hadn't recalled doing so in some... what was this? He found himself in some bed... and then he found himself unequipped with, well, everything. In fact! When he realized he was stuck in a human body, he screamed. Yup. Screamed.-

[Action: Around town!]

-Dynamo's human frame was oddly tall and lanky, in a failed attempt to replicate his reploid form. He would glare at a drone as they acted in their usual fashion. ... and ignore those that didn't seem to take notice of him. That's right, the guy just outright ignored you. Clearly you're not worth talking to.-

Oh, you are new here? This is Mayfield, a most cruel and malevolent town capable of trapping any sort of being in itself and stripping away all reminders of home and all of your powers. Humans, machines, creatures and not even gods are immune to its grasp.

Do you need some time to take in this information? There's a lot you should know about this deceptive town.

It is very weird; too much takes place over too little time and none of it makes sense. The only thing that is clear is that there are people behind all of this, somehow manipulating the town itself and torturing those it takes in.

That is not subtlety, my friend; when I say torture, I literally mean "torture." Mayfield dedicates time each month to torturing people in various ways. The worst I've seen is when people would be chosen at random and operated on. Some were forced to go on rampages, others had all of their limbs removed and some would catch fire when in sunlight...

(He says that last one with a noticeable bit of shame.)

Many people go out and search for a solution every day. Everyone's trying to survive and find a way back home, all working towards the same goal in their own ways

If you wish to keep to yourself, then go right ahead. I'll only stand in your way if you start attacking innocent people.
sunnydwithagun: (I can be cute~)

There is, actually. By surviving the terrible events Mayfield concocts per month, you'll receive a belonging of yours in the mail. Whether it's a weapon, an ability or your original form, it'll be sent to whatever house you woke up in.

Essentially, yes, but it's not that simple. You've encountered those strange people who seem devoid of any type of life, right? They're called drones; at anytime, anyone can be turned into those drones. The best way to avoid that is to play the role this town assigns you, such as the father of a household.

It's a fake smile, at best; no one is truly happy in Mayfield.

I'm thinking it's a very powerful surveillance system. There aren't any type of cameras anywhere, but somehow it knows where everyone is and can tell if you're not doing your assigned job. There's a three day rule with that; on the third day you don't attend school or go to work, you're instantly droned.
sunnydwithagun: (Love and peace!)

[personal profile] sunnydwithagun 2012-03-12 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I do, honestly. I only attend school every third day just to be safe.

For the three day rule, droning only lasts one day. It may not seem like much of a punishment, but that's 24 hours that could be better spent elsewhere.
sunnydwithagun: (taiyooooh!)

[personal profile] sunnydwithagun 2012-03-12 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
As far as I know, no one remembers being droned, but like I said, time better spent elsewhere.

Stuck in this very town yes. I jogged across the entire town once before; if you run off of one side, you appear at the other. It doesn't let anyone leave.

Oddly enough, there is a lot that can happen in this tiny place. There's almost always a commotion going on somewhere in Mayfield.

(He replies with a nod.)

I'm sure we'll meet again, Dynamo. It's a small town with big problems, after all.
