Pet shop of the damned!

A: 2238 Stevens Road

[Naal got a package today. It's pretty conspicuous; it's easily three feet on a side and has, uh, air holes. Rather than try to bring the bulky box inside she's examining it on the lawn. But that only happens for a few seconds; she quickly seems to get excited and tears open the cardboard!

...and from inside bursts a GIANT SPIDER. It's grey and covered in dense hairs, a bit like a tarantula, and has some elaborate white markings on its back. But who has time to think about stuff like that, it's LEAPING ONTO POOR DEFENSELESS NAAL AND... uh... making lots of chittering noises?]

Fuzz-fuzz!

[Yes those words just came out of little doom-and-gloom I-am-already-dead Naal's mouth. Also: this may be the only time anyone in Mayfield, her family included, has ever seen her smile. No she didn't get droned just in time to think that her box full of spider is puppies, she just treats it like one anyway. CHERISH THIS SIGHT. Or run screaming in horror, whatever floats your boat.]

B: Around Town

[And now she's taking it for a walk! Maybe it's running up to you or chasing a squirrel or climbing a tree but... probably not. Mostly it just rides around on Naal's back like a big fuzzy backpack. It's really kind of lazy like that.]

[Sarah Jane holds her thumb and forefinger a decent distance apart]

They might have them at the pet shop.

[A glance at Figaro reveals this is... unlikely to go well]

Or we could breed them ourselves. I could. [Sometimes she kind of forgets that Sarah Jane isn't some servant of hers, honestly.]

In the mean time I will make do with what is available. Figaro. I will leave you enough to replenish their numbers.

[She is definitely not using a compromising voice, and the spider skitters on ahead! BEGIN THE CHASE.]

[AND THE CHASE BEGINS. Figaro shrieks out a very high, slightly unmanly note, and off he goes with that jar of leeches protectively under his arm. He sprints off down Stevens Road, without really a goal or place in mind except to escape the Spider from Hell.]

Figaro. Figaro! Come back here! [Okay she is not really very good at raising her voice but she is seriously surprised that he would actually run away like this. Passive as she usually is she has never really come to fully understand that without the trappings of home she does not convey any sense of authority.]

What does he think he is doing... [Is the only answer Sarah Jane gets as Naal starts running after Figaro and her pet.]

[The thirty minute chase ends with Figaro up on a tree, with a very long stick being used to keep Fuzz-fuzz away from him and his precious leeches. He's actually swearing in Italian and Spanish, and it's only because the spider belongs to Naal that he has not decided to squish it.]
