[One of the rats chitters and then they all start rolling around, one flopping right off the chair. Merem ends up laughing along with them.]

Though did you hear? The Rat King has been hanging around with girls lately. I wonder if he's taken a liking to them. He might end up being more human than me before it all ends.

Did you do this the last time you were here? And I'm doing my homework. The Yama actually requires I do it. Totally blows. I hate this school thing.

I lived here the last time but I've seen bigger feats stay standing. What kind of homework are you doing?

Not here. [Meaning this house.] And it's American law homework. Not something easy, like math.

I would say give it here but I seem to be quite armless. I could do it rather quickly though.

This particular class is being taught by the Yama. Not one of the drones, ze. Besides, I can do this. And I'll be in more trouble than I feel like dealing with if I turn in work that's not my own.

That still doesn't make it any less useless to everyday life. As a man of practicality, I could help define that down.
