All across the nation, such a strange vibration

[ Ilsa has had all manner of fresh herbs in vases for some time, so the mint in the kitchen is nothing new. The fact that she has more of it than usual prompts her into a planning stages for a party before the town messes with them again. She thinks. ]

Hm, we still have a few limes, but I can pick up more on the way home. Could use another bottle or two of rum, besides.

I think it’s been long enough for moping about - I have limes, mint and rum. The first batch of mojitos will be ready about 6:00 this evening. Everyone is invited to drop by.

[ Botanical Agent Status: All Systems Go! ]

[ There’s music on the hi-fi, and Ilsa has been busy mixing drinks and setting out bowls of nuts and pretzels. Since this morning, there have been daisies, carnations, iris and more mint appearing in the house (( your choice what scent hits your character ))

Ilsa greets everyone at the door by putting a drink in their hand and a kiss on their cheek. Minors get minty limeade and a hug, at least. ]

I wanna try one of those mojito things! I've never tried one before! I bet they're good! You like 'em, so they must be!

C'mon then! I'll show you how they get put together!

[ She's just going to carry him to the kitchen, skritching his ears along the way. When she gets there, she puts him on the counter, and gets one of the cut-glass bowls that match the bar ware to mix his drink. ]

[Ahh, such pampering. Nall won't deny he loves it.

He hops to attention when she sets him down, ready and willing to learn.]

So what's all in these things? You mentioned rum on the phone, if I remember right?

Yeah, but the flavor base is first.

[ She pauses. ]

You aren't allergic to mint or limes, are you?

The only thing I'm allergic to is boredom.

...And jerks.

All right, then!

[ Ilsa tosses the mint leaves, lime wedges and sugar into the bowl and starts mixing with the muddler. ]

This is the sweet and sour of it.

[ Breathing deeply, she smiles. ]

[Nall sniffs at the concoction curiously before grinning ear to ear.]

It smells really tasty!

Now for the rum and seltzer... [ Concentrating to keep from shooting seltzer all over the place, ] there.

[ Ilsa places the bowl in front of him. ]

Kampai!

[Nall doesn't know what that word means, but he'll try repeating it anyways!]

Kahmpiee!

[He laps at the bowl, and then sits back with a big smile.]

It's tart! I like it!

[ Ilsa skritches Nall behind the ears, purring a bit herself. ]

It's one of my favorites.

[Mmm, good drinks, pretty lady... hey, Nall thinks he just had an epiphany about how one of his old friends used to behave!]

I can see why. It's a lot different from beer. That's mostly what I used to drink back home... someone I knew told me that if I was going to look like a man, I had to drink a man's drink.

...I told him that I looked like a teenager and he said that didn't matter.

[ooeeooahah]

[ Ilsa chuckles, and nuzzles the top of his head. ]

Sometimes beer's the best choice if the water supply is questionable. But in this case, I don't make drinks really strong, just balanced.
