[It isn't exactly unusual for Senri to be a little unsure of his surroundings when he wakes up. His mind isn't really good at holding on to details like the events of the previous day. At least not without reminders. That's what his book is for.
And, as this is actually his second trip to Mayfield, the town has seen fit to allow him to keep the things he had regained during his previous stay. The book included. So instead of panicking, he flips through his book, checks his reminders, and looks around. ]


Mayfield.....


[Yes, this is Mayfield, but... Something seems different. Is this the house he was in before? Well, he's in the pictures so... it must be. He spends a little while poking around the house, confused to find the previous drone woman gone and the drone children too. That's .... somewhat disappointing actually. She had been nice. Odd, but nice. He wonders if there's a reason for the change. He's also wondering if he should be leaving now? Wasn't there a place he'd been told to go to every day? Maybe Cooro would know. He'd been around the last time this happened....]

[Later on, Senri has finally pieced together that school was the place he was supposed to go. Except not. Because the school year hasn't started yet. But it's not like he knows that. So he's just standing outside the school building, looking confused. The building does seem vaguely familiar, but he just isn't sure....]

[Another long pause while he thinks this through. He... honestly isn't sure. He thinks he might remember what the place was called....]

.......School?

[He isn't sure the word is right, and it shows in his unsure tone.]

School's out for a few more weeks, I think. There's nobody in there right now.

[He looks back up at the school, then back at her. And nods. He gets it. No school today. He's sure there's a good reason for that. Then he gives her a questioning look, wondering what she's doing around here in that case....]

Oh... I'm new here too, so I'm still trying to learn where everything is. My name's Sayaka.

[bear_necessities]

[He nods again. That's a pretty name. He.... doesn't bother giving her his name. She never asked.]

Uh... what's your name?

[He's good at following orders.]

[He.... shakes his head. She is correct, he does not talk that much.]

Well, that's okay too. I probably talk a little too much sometimes, so it balances out!

[She scratches at the back of her head briefly, laughing.]

[Have a faint smile and a headpat. He doesn't mind if she talks a lot. His friends do that too.]

[Sayaka blinks and blushes a little, but smiles back all the same.]

[She's pretty nice, so this is probably an encounter worth remembering. He glances around and then reaches up to pluck a leaf from a nearby tree.

It finds a new home in his book. He seems rather pleased.]

Huh? What's that book?

[He holds it out so she can get a better look.]

Memories...

[That totally explains everything.]

Oh, I get it! I made something like that once when I was little.

[The idea that she might have done something similar is exciting to say the least. He starts pulling out various objects. First, a feather.]

Cooro...

[A red flower.]

Crystala...

[Then some sort of leaf. It looks sort of like aloe.]

Abon village...

You have a lot of memories in there, huh...?

[He nods.]

[And then he pulls out the leaf that he put in there a moment ago.]

Sayaka....

[She actually blushes a little at that.]

Ahahah... you're embarrassing me!

[bear_necessities]

[More headpats are in order then. He likes her. She reminds him a little of Nana. He puts the leaf back carefully and closes the book. He needs to keep that safe.]

Where are you going to go now, Senri?

[bear_necessities]

[He... shrugs. He hasn't yet decided whether to follow her for a while, or go back to his new home.]

Are you hungry?

[bear_necessities]

[He considers this, then nods. He hasn't actually eaten yet today.]

Okay, let's go grab a burger, then.

[Elmer passes Senri in a hallway... stops, and backs up to see who the heck that was.]

Hi there! Who are you?

[bear_necessities]

[He stares for a moment. Then checks his book. There seem to be a lot of flowers pressed in there. And some feathers. And what looks like a Campbell's soup label. And other strange odds and ends.

Nope. Don't know this guy. He seems non-threatening though. Hasn't made any move to attack.]

....... Senri.

[keep_smiling]

Are you new in the house? Oh, do we finally get a child who isn't a drone? Did you just wake up here today? You seem awfully calm!

[bear_necessities]

[He would be a lot less calm if the town had taken his book again. But as it is, he feels more confused than anything. So have a pause and then finally a nod. Yes, he just woke up here, and he doesn't think he's a drone.

Sorry Elmer, this kid isn't much of a conversationalist.]

Is that a "yes" to all of those? Brilliant! To be with you, drones sadden me. This house will be much happier without them. What's your name? I'm Elmer. Or El. Or ElEl. [He will talk enough for the both of them.]

[bear_necessities]

[Another nod. Then he points to himself.]

Senri...

[You have a lot of names, Sir. So he he points to Elmer and cocks his head questioningly.]

El?

[That was the shortest option. He'll go with that.]

Yes! That works. And you're Senri? I guess this means I'm your "dad" now. That's how this place works. It doesn't make a lot of sense sometimes.

[He blinks in surprise. Perhaps luckily for him, he doesn't really remember his actual father all that well. And he doesn't understand Mayfield either. So.... okay. He nods again. And then looks around for some small object to put in his book. He'll want to remember this, after all.]

[There's several of the family portraits around, as well as the usual bland Mayfield nicknacks. Though, on one end table sits a Venetian mask. Not exactly a small souvenir, but it sure sticks out. Elmer, meanwhile, comes closer to get a look at the book.]

Hmm? Where did you find that?

[bear_necessities]

[The mask is interesting, but far too big. So that's why one of the smaller pictures is coming out of it's frame and being moved to the book.

The book itself appears to be some sort of history book. But a lot of the pages have things pressed into them. In response to the question, Senri smiles faintly.]

Crystala....

[She gave him the book, and this single word clearly answers his question completely. Right?]

[Elmer smiles back.] Is that a place? A person?

[He'll point out on the picture Senri's new family.] See, that's me, and you of course, and that's just the drone kid, and that's Grell. The "mother", I guess.

[He shakes his head 'no' to the first question and nods at the second one. She's a person.

And then listens attentively to the explanation. Then he points to Grell in the picture and looks at Elmer questioningly.]

Is she nice?

[This is probably the longest sentence he'll string together all day.]

But how did you have that with you then? Ah! Were you here in Mayfield already, and just got moved houses? I hear that happens sometimes.

She is! For the most part.
