5th tea party: The Poison Joke's Pony Princess

Action: Around town

(These strange flowers apparently saw it fit to turn many of the town's residents into ponies...and Kreutzer was no exception.

However, she was chased out of the house by her not!husband before she could really calm down, so here she is, cautiously walking down the street with absolutely no balance and a group of ponified dolls flying around her...this was going to be a long weekend.)

(After stumbling her way here, Kreutzer shyly sits in a corner of the park, trying to get adjusted to her newfound wings while her blushes refuses to fade. Occasionally, she'll hide her face behind her hat, but she's mostly keeping to herself and her dolls.)

I don't like the idea of being...this exposed. I'm naked! It truly wasn't necessary for Hajime to be so rude...

It's surprisingly difficult holding a phone without fingers...especially when limited to a payphone. I don't suppose there are any other people turned into ponies, are there? Or perhaps someone with an idea of how this happened in the first place?

[Applejack has come to the park to try and relax, as it's one of the more natural feeling spots in the town of Mayfield to him. He kinda feels stupid about running into the Poison Joke earlier, but what's done is done, after all.

He was just about sit in the shade of a tree when he heard someone hiding in the corner talking to themselves.]

Well, you know, you're really only naked if you think you're naked. And even then, we ponies don't really wear clothes except for special occasions or events.

Still, Ah guess it's your own point of view, huh? Ah know Ah sometimes feel anxious without mah hat.

(The voice catches Kreutzer by surprise, but she calms herself easily. At least this one, whoever it belonged to, was actually being supportive. Still in hiding, she responds.)

I suppose things are a bit different for those who go from human to pony, but I suppose it isn't all bad.

I'm almost never this revealed, even as a human. It's just...

...will you promise not to laugh?

[Well, this sounds a bit serious, so Applejack uses the most serious of promises, along with appropriate hoof gestures.]

Ah promise, cross mah heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in mah eye.

(Well that's a serious sounding promise. Very pony-ish, but serious.

As such, Kreutzer steps out of hiding and reveals herself to Applejack, blushing up slightly as her wings flutter a bit. She still doesn't have much control over them, but she's learning!)

You...must be one of Rarity's and Pinkie's friends, correct? I'm Kreutzer.

[Applejack isn't too sure why she thought he'd laugh. She looks like a perfectly normal pony to him. Nice wings, nice horn-wait horn AND wings? Applejack can't help but quirk an eyebrow at this...]

Yep! The name's Applejack, nice to meet ya Kreutzer. And this might sound like an odd question, but you wouldn't happen to be royalty from wherever you're from, would you?

(Oh god, is she a mind reader? Things could go terribly wrong if anyone were to really know about Kreutzer's past. Rarity knew some of it, but for Applejack to suddenly know something like that? So very unsettling...)

Well, where Ah'm from, the only ponies with both pegasi wings and a unicorn horn are Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, so Ah thought maybe that's why a human suddenly turned pony would have both as well...

If it makes you feel any better, you're a pretty nice looking pony.

I see...that would certainly make a lot of sense. There must be a lot more to those "Poison Joke" flowers than I'm aware of.

Oh...th-thank you, Applejack. (Dammit Kreutzer, stop blushing. STOP. BLUSHING.) I think under more preferable circumstances, I would actually enjoy being a pony. Something about it is just...very comforting and wonderful.

(Kreutzer's wanted to squee about this all day, but she's only just now feeling the urge to do so. It's because she's meeting a new pony; ponies make Kreutzer happy.)

Well, Ah've been a pony almost all mah life and Ah haven't had any problems with it. Course up until earlier this afternoon, and was a filly and not a colt, but at least this isn't as strange as last week. Or as bad as the last time Ah had a run in with Poison Joke...

But yeah, sometimes it seems like the flower really playing some kind of tailor fitted practical joke on you. Ah always figured that was because they were a might magical in nature.

Were you swapped with a humanoid body as well? Rarity was in that predicament and I helped her through it as best I could.

I would arrive at the very same conclusion. It's as if they're able to learn about someone quick enough to prank them in the time it takes to smell them. That's certainly an incredible feat.

In your opinion, would it be a bad idea if I were to take a few samples so I could study them? I would love to utilize that sort of talent into something beneficial.

[Applejack actually needs to think about that for a moment, rubbing his chin with a hoof as he mulls it over.]

Hrrm, Ah'm not too sure, actually... We don't really have a way to make any antidotes for it, so if something bad happened by accident, we'd have no way to quickly reverse it. On the other hoof, you are already being affected by it, so it can't do anything more to you... Ah guess it's more of whether there's a safe place you could study them where others couldn't get affected by them.

But yeah, Rarity and Ah got swapped with these twins. She woke me up with her scream which is how Ah knew it was her. Kinda wish it wasn't right by mah ear though...

I believe I can dedicate an area of the home for their study; part of it is already used for my sewing, so I a bit more for flora wouldn't be too costly...

(Kreutzer reflects on the idea for a moment before continuing the conversation.)

She must certainly have a voice on her then; it's almost fitting for a lady like her. (Not to say Kreutzer didn't, either.) Hopefully, you two were able to figure things out before they got too hectic.

[Applejack holds back a bit of a chuckle.]

That's one way of looking at it, Ah guess. But it turned out alright after the whole initial shock wore off and we figured out what was going on.

Yes; the hooves to hands tradeoff is certainly a challenging one...the reverse holds true, as well. I'm glad things went so well for you two; that day had a lot of potential for sabotage.

Yeah, Ah hope most folks only had to go through a bit of discomfort what with all that potential for problems that could have happened...

Ah'd also like to think it won't happen again, but Ah have a feeling this town would take that as a challenge...

I think I had it easy that time around; despite being forced out of the house by my false husband, I did enjoy getting my revenge.

I do hope to have something figured out by the time it tries something like this again. I've heard of those in town capable of shape-shifting and transforming objects and others into other things...perhaps I can learn of their secrets.

You think? You can learn magic like that from them if they're willing? That must be rather handy!

It is. Being adaptable is a skill everyone picks up on after spending time here. I just happen to be a very fast learner, is all.

I'm sure you're just as, if not more, adaptable than I am.

Ah wouldn't say that exactly. Ah mean Ah'm just a simple country pony, you know? And an earth pony at that, no magic or anything like that.

And that's exactly what would make you so adaptable. You aren't burdened by those kinds of abilities and have no reliance on them, so physically, I'm sure you had a much easier time adjusting.

Culturally...perhaps not as easy. This is certainly no Equestria and that I apologize for, but you seem to be handling yourself quite well.

Ah guess Ah see what you mean about the physical, but as for culturally...

Ah guess it's just that ever since Ah got mah cutie mark, Ah had a pretty good idea of who Ah am and what Ah can do, and as long as Ah'm sure of that, then Ah can handle whatever is thrown at me.

Also, Ah've got mah friends to support me at times too.

I can respect that very much, Applejack. It's always important to hold on to your identity, especially in a town where everyone's their own character.

[Applejack gets a sheepish look, a bit at the praise, but also remembering a past event in Mayfield where she was acting like an Manehattanite due to the town's shenanigans.]

Of course, but sometimes, all it takes is an outside perspective to make things right. I know I would've have achieved much of what I have without the help of others.

Oh Ah know what you mean, Ah'm glad to have the help of mah friends. One of the reasons Ah try hard to be there for them if they need me.
