...Anyone who has been... droned before, or-- or anyone who would have this sort of knowledge, really, could you tell me... how aware they are? Of everything that's happening? Are they better off this way?

I wouldn't know much about droning but I don't think anyone who's turned into a drone is better off. It just seems like...they take your heart from you and you're just empty. But, there's hope! I mean, some people managed to wake up that librarian! So, we just need to remind them who they are. Their heart's still there somewhere, just asleep I guess.
