So yea...I've been here for a while, and got pretty used to all the stupid stuff that goes on here. It was all pretty weird but you could kind of get used to it after a while, and even start predicting when stuff would happen.

[There's a long pause before Arcueid speaks again. She doesn't really sound afraid, just maybe a little nervous.]

This is different...isn't it?

[Once the moon had come up, Arcueid had decided to take stock of what might be going on around town. No goofy Phantasmoon, no silly antics, she's just moving about like a vampire do.

You may find her sitting on your roof, laying on the grass, or maybe just actually walking around like a normal person. The woman seems a little bit worn out tonight, no whimsical fancies to deal with.

[Oh what a question that was. Natalie has never had a very good poker face. She almost laughs, but fights the feeling back.]

...no. But I've heard about others that are. Or, at least, home is a much more hazardous place. That might be my case.

Huh, you kind of sound like you're doing that whole thing where you're talking about something you don't want to talk about but trying to sound like you're not.

[Wow, Arcueid did that even make sense?]

...possibly? [She narrows her eyes. It felt like she ought to diagram that sentence. Also, perhaps deflect the conversation elsewhere as soon as possible.]

Oh, I guess I can understand that. There's a lot of those where I come from.

Still, it's gotta be better than here, right? Especially if staying here just means you're going to die or be stuck in an endless void or something.

There's a lot of them everywhere. A universal constant?

[Another awkward shift, and she shrugs.] I stopped worrying about dying a long time ago. [Lies.] Although I hadn't considered the chance of there being an endless void...

Oh yea, I'm pretty sure there is one.

Whatever corner of the worlds this little world sits in might just consume it if it falls apart.

Hopefully we'll get the chance to get out. I bet being stuck in an endless void is pretty boring.
