So yea...I've been here for a while, and got pretty used to all the stupid stuff that goes on here. It was all pretty weird but you could kind of get used to it after a while, and even start predicting when stuff would happen.

[There's a long pause before Arcueid speaks again. She doesn't really sound afraid, just maybe a little nervous.]

This is different...isn't it?

[Once the moon had come up, Arcueid had decided to take stock of what might be going on around town. No goofy Phantasmoon, no silly antics, she's just moving about like a vampire do.

You may find her sitting on your roof, laying on the grass, or maybe just actually walking around like a normal person. The woman seems a little bit worn out tonight, no whimsical fancies to deal with.

Yea, it's hard for humans to handle stuff like this.

I dunno, either we're all going to die or we'll all go back home...if everything's even actually falling apart.

There's a chance it's just another game they're playing with us.

Are you a little kid or something? I really kind of don't want to freak a kid out or anything.

[Even though hide-and-seek with the whole town would be TOTALLY fun.]

Kind of? I guess by human standards you're old enough to handle me telling you that the "games" Mayfield plays aren't hide-and-seek.

They're more like "dismember and put you back together" or "make your nightmares come to life and kill you" or things like that.

.. A-.. ah! [ she knows this is true, she's even seen it before, but it's enough to make her flinch and squeak all the same, apparently. ]

Well, we've kind of had no choice.

But...I guess this place does just feel really different now. I'd almost believe it is really falling apart.

Like I said, though...if it is falling apart that means we're probably all going to die.

Probably. Unless there turns out there's something we can do about it in the end...yea I don't think it's gonna end well.

Well, that's not really gonna be helpful.

See, if this world falls apart like it's looking like it's going to...that means we might fall apart with it.
