I think I must disagree with you there. Loss is a part of life, even for those of us who are immortal. Memories are precious things and if we don't get close, we will never have joy. I am precluded by the nature of my work from making close ties, as they are weapons that can be used against me, or carry with them the possibility of revealing secrets I must not speak of.

But if joy lasts forever, or for a short time, what does it hurt? Even I laughed and drank wine, and fought and matched wits with my Mournival brothers, before we broke from each other.
