[After her little portal excursion, Bernkastel has decided to go exploring as a cat. It's surprising what you can learn in this sort of form, after all--people are much more willing to disclose secrets to an animal. So if you'd like, you can find her about town--on fences, in trees, and maybe up in your business if you're doing something interesting.]

B; in a tree
[Or, if you would like to choose the more amusing option, you can find her stuck in a tree. Not like most cats are, meowing to get down, but literally stuck--it seems one of the branches decided to flicker in and out of existence just long enough for Bernkastel to get caught in the middle of one.

Her fur puffed out and looking incredibly indignant, her first thought is to look around to make sure no one actually saw that. If no one's looking, she can teleport. If not, this is going to become even more embarrassing very quickly.]

You are making moody moody sounds, you know.

[ She catches up on this at least. Then again, wouldn't all cats be kind of moody in this situation? Rika doesn't think much of it. She just continues to pet Bern like she would any other cat; around her chin and such. ]

I wonder how much longer this will go on. I do not want to go to sleep some night and wake up trapped in my bed or anything. This is annoying and tiresome of you, Mayfield.

[With an attempted swish of her tail it comes free, and she's quick to pull her feet up once she realizes. Thus free she acts as if she'd never been trapped at all, sitting on Rika's lap and putting up with the petting, as it's better than having to try to climb down the tree and ending up stuck in the trunk or something.

She does meow again, though, as if that might encourage Rika to continue talking.]

[ Though this means Rika is next to get stuck; yes, the branch frees Bern's tail, but suddenly Rika's butt is stuck. She almost screams and throws a fit, but even to a cat she is going to keep a calm facade. Instead she just hisses in annoyance, then resumes the petting. ]

Tch. If this is what I get for speaking poorly of Mayfield then so be it. [ Pet pet. A bit faster as Rika calms herself down. ] At least you'll be safe now. Next chance, we'll get out of this tree for good.

[Oh, is Rika stuck now? Bernkastel is pleased enough by the karma--hah--to remain where she is. She watches one of the broken drones pass by talking about buying eggs and wonders just how much longer this little game is going to hold up.]

Don't they ever talk about anything interesting-- Mi! [ Rika watches the drone as well. Just as she loses focus on the tree, she falls through the branch again. Lucky for Bern, Rika thinks she is a normal cat and is taking more care to be sure Bernkastel is safe over herself when they land. ] -- whew... I am glad no one saw that.

[Bernkastel settles her fur as quickly as possible once they're on the ground--well, Bernkastel lands mostly on Rika, but either way the ground seems solid enough. She's still careful stepping off onto it, though, picking her way onto the grass like she expects it to vanish. It might, and she can't hover at the moment, with Rika watching.

She meows again at Rika, tail this time twitching just at the very tip.]

What a relief that you got down okay.

[ Rika lowers herself to her knees, to bid the cat farewell. Truly relieved to see that cat she spent so much time worrying over is okay. ]

Be careful of the trees for now. If you get stuck again I might not be there to get you out, you know.

[Bernkastel meows once more--this was probably as minimally embarrassing as the situation could have gone, at least. Of course, it would have been better if it hadn't happened at all.

Still, she allows Rika to say her goodbye before she runs off through the grass. She vanishes, having teleported home, as soon as she gets out of sight.]
