(Yes, this is a terribly depressing sight. Kreutzer really, really wants to help her not look so miserable...)

...it's very hard to say. Sometimes they can come back; sometimes they can't. New and old captives come in each month, but it's hard to say if anyone can come back.

...that's what I've heard, yes. They go back home when they're permanently droned, so I'm sure your friend went back home, too.
