event: portal seven | the void

The final portal doesn't seem to be a portal at all. It's a glitch hole.

Located on the lawn of the library is a hole much like the ones that have plagued every new location for the past week. As with them, it hurts your eyes to look at too long, but even if you should muscle past the pain and stare straight into it, you can make out nothing on the other side. Nothing, save for a shifting, twitching, swirling void.

Unlike the portals, which were vertically placed like doorways, the hole at the Library is strewn across the lawn: if you want to enter it, you're going to have to jump. Of course, there's no guarantee it will even lead anywhere. Touching the hole or sticking your arm in doesn't have any effect: you'll pull your arm out unharmed. As far as jumping in completely goes, those who jump in disappear from sight. As long as you're on the Mayfield side, there's no way to tell what lies beyond the hole.

There's only one way to find out.

[ooc: Feel free to roleplay up to the point your characters jump in, assuming they do. A single group subthread will be created in a few hours revealing what happens on the other side.]

[Rubbing the back of his head, Slugger turns and rises to his feet. He's familiar with Pokey's jerk-bot so he isn't mad. Actually, he's glad to see that Pokey has brought the robots along in order to test the portal.]

I don't know. Let him go first. [He nods to Pokey's rock-throwing lookalike.]

[Pokey just smirks at the remark. What do you know? That's exactly what he was thinking too. Still sneering he turns back towards his robot.]

Hey......you. I've got something really special for-

No. [The answer is pretty immediate. And from the robotic voice, scared.] I'm not going in there.

Haha yeah. It's cute you think you he a choice. Miss Marshmallow? Please grab that hunk of junk and drag it over here.

Roger dodger master!

[And with that the robot maid grabs the Pokey-bot and starts dragging it towards the glitch. Despit the Pokey-bots kicking and screaming Marshmallow doesn't seem to have much trouble with him]

[Watching the robots, it occurs to him that even if they do manage to throw the Pokey-bot in, who knows if they would ever get it back again to see what it found. He turns to Pokey.]

Maybe we should tie something to it.

We could always tie him to you.

[But naw, Pokey had this figured out. He slings a backpack off his back that he had on and produces a length of rope. He moves to tie it to a nearby tree while keeping his eyes on the two robots.]

Hey Slugger. Help her out will ya?

[He nods and approaches the robots, putting Pokey's mechanical twin in a headlock and helping to drag it over. And if it sasses him, he'll pop it over the head with his bat.]
