[ Since her house is fifty percent drones, the glitching started getting really creepy really quick. Therefore, she packed up her laptop and hauled her butt to the park. Surprise, she's spending a day outside of the church! She finds herself a secluded bench, as far away from other people and any noise as she can get. Then she proceeds to listen to something on her laptop over and over again. It's a recording of the radio, and she's attempting to make out the murmuring voices.

With little success, though. ]

Ugh. If Budge were here, he'd be able to clean these up in a snap. Can't believe I'm saying it, but he would be really useful right now.

[ More grumbling continues as she starts the recording over. ]

[ She looks up, trying to swap her annoyed look with the best smile she can muster. ]

Not really. I was smart enough to record it this time. But I can't make anything out.

Considering this isn't the first time the town has gone haywire like it was falling apart? Yeah, I'd say so.

[ And now she's grinning, clearly pleased by this information. ]

[She taps her watch]

So far I haven't gotten any unusual readings, but something has to come up eventually.

[a voice he recognizes and doesn't dislike! that alone is enough to get him to pipe up instead of continuing to listen to the phonelines in boredom.]

[ There's a smile in her voice when she speaks, because talking to someone she knows is always more fun. ]

Has the town ever messed up like this before? Like, the whole glitching thing? Or something similar to it?

[there's a brief pause as he combs his memory.] I can't recall the town itself glitching to this extent, but the drones have gone haywire before. It was around November, actually. The town itself was showing some signs of instability, like the power going out and regains disappearing or ceasing to work.

[ She sounds interested! There are soft clicking noises in the background as she logs this information in her notes on her laptop. ]

So would you say that the town might be... breaking, for lack of a better word?

[it takes him a second to recognise the noise since he's an old grandpa with minimal interaction with technology, but he'll politely give her time to write things down once he figures it out.]

Breaking would certainly be one way to describe it. I've heard several theories tossed around that say this entire town is some sort of simulation or virtual reality, and that's becoming more and more likely. "Malfunctioning" might be a closer descriptor, now that I think about it. Someone on the phones a few days ago read from a document obtained in Maipole that essentially stated the town doesn't have the means to support itself. [a thoughtful pause] In short, we're either using up too much energy or not providing enough, so the system seems to be failing.

[Unexpectedly, a man in a suit and sunglasses walks backwards into the park, circling the bench Bella is sitting on, still in reverse. He moves a little erratically. Y'know, aside from the whole... backwards walking thing.]

[ She'll just... take a moment to watch him, her expression becoming increasingly more concerned as it continues. ]

Are you, um... broken or something?

Boy, I just love apple pies! They're the bees-knees!

Great.

[ Nope, not dealing with more creepy drones. Not even the ones who don't really look like drones. So don't mind her while she starts to save files and shut down her laptop. ]

Thanks. [ The smile can be heard in her voice. ] Has this ever happened in the town before? This weird... glitching, body parts going through solid objects thing?

Not in all the time I've been here, no. It's a little less weird to see the drones acting funny... although it's still unsettling, of course! But the solid objects not being solid certainly seems to be a new thing.

Has the town ever done this before? This weird glitching, malfunctioning thing?

Not that I recall. Things have changed, things have gotten bad, but I don't remember things gettin' glitchy.
