[Sayaka wakes up on Monday morning with her usual difficulty, tossing and turning in bed as the sunlight peeks through the window of her room.  Yawning, she rubs her eyes and wanders around the bedroom bleary-eyed and half asleep for a minute or so before finding the doorknob.  She manages to get all the way to the bathroom and is in the middle of brushing her teeth before she finally realizes that this place is unfamiliar and her pajamas aren't the ones she went to bed with.]

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh?  What the heck?

[And now she's immediately kicked into high gear, running back into 'her' bedroom and tearing the room apart.  There's got to be something familiar here, or at least something to tell her where she is.  She starts panicking even more when she notices she's not wearing a ring and her Soul Gem is nowhere to be found.]

No way!  No way, no way, no way!  Where is it?

[Action; afternoon; around town]

[Once Sayaka's done tearing the house apart looking for a Soul Gem she isn't going to find, she wastes no time in taking to the streets of Mayfield.  She's managed to find a baseball bat owned by one of the drones, and she holds it protectively at her side as she jogs up and down unfamiliar roads.  It's clear that she has no idea where she's going, evidenced by all the time she spends looking around warily.  She also seems off-put by the backwards-walking drones and other weird things going on.]

This is the weirdest labyrinth I've ever seen...

[Phone; evening; unfiltered]

[At this point, Sayaka figures that if she isn't in a witch's labyrinth, she can probably at least still contact her friends.  So now she's on the phone after having dialed Madoka's number.  Unfortunately, she has no idea that the call is going to go out to the entire town.]

Madoka?  Madoka, are you there?

A fairy named Bey-yan gave it to me.

[It wasn't a lie, but she could play it off as a joke if she needed to.]

Well, more like a cat.

Did it have kind of long ears like a rabbit too?

No, they were cat ears. It just had these long tassels from its neck though.

Hmmmm... weird.

[This girl's circumstances and the ring look a heck of a lot like Puella Magi type stuff, but this part isn't adding up.]

You're sure its name wasn't more like Kyuubey or something?

[reconstructs]

Oh, "Bey-yan" is just my nickname. He's called Jyuubey.

So there's more than one of those things?

[Cover blown, but Sayaka needs to know what this girl stands for if she's going to be in the same town with her. After what happened with Kyouko, she's not in the business of trusting other puella magi outright. She's making no effort at all to hide the defensiveness in her voice or posture at this point.]

So you're a puella magi too?

[Well, Nico can understand that, especially after just having fought a rather disgusting girl before coming here]

That's right. I fight to protect people from witches and their familiars.

[reconstructs]

Ohh, very noble. Well, I guess that's the basics of being one.

[Normally she'd be a lot more cautious given that she might one day be throwing this girl in the Freezer, but there's no Freezer here and this girl probably doesn't even have any of her powers back.]

But right now you're back to being just an ordinary girl. There's no witches here, so you might as well enjoy it while you can.

Yeah, well, there are some of us who don't exactly think that way.

[Grr Kyouko grr - but at least this girl doesn't seem like she's out for herself, so Sayaka relaxes just a little.]

There might not be witches, but there's plenty of other bad stuff that happens in this town, right? I feel like I should try to help with that.

I know what you mean.

[At least you didn't deal with Kyouko 2.0: the Souju Sisters]

Hmm, I guess. Well, a lot of it, magic wouldn't help with anyway.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean I can't still try.

[reconstructs]

True enough. Even if we can't fix the big things, there's things we can do.

Well, if we had our magic. I have my gem but... nothing that goes with it.

[It was basically a "congrats, you're a zombie again" gift]

Yeah... I don't have mine either.

You'll probably get it soon. Whenever weird things happen, the town tends to give things back afterward. Well, not enough to help us out of here, but things.

I hope so. It just kills me having to stand by and watch, knowing that there's a way I can help people.

There's not much you can do about it though.

[Well, there is but... nah, Nico thinks telling her about the post office is probably a bad idea.]

There are small groups around the area. It's not an easy thing to do as the town has so much power.

However if you want my advice. I'd take a few days to a week to get used to the place, it's easy to get lost here and you don't want to do that.

Talk to some of the children at the school. Or some of the teachers. Just be careful not to get in trouble or they'll drone you.

I'll be teaching Psychology in the high school when the terms starts up again.
