[ If anyone has noticed Conan's absence from 915 Bilko Boulevard it will have seemed as though he up and a disappeared and has been missing for several days. The truth is, that after a truly unfortunate encounter he's wound up at the hospital but no one really knows that except for the staff and, of course Sherlock, being the person that brought Conan to the hospital. ]

[ During his absence he's been drifting in and out of drug induced sleep. However, he's feeling much better today, his body temperature is back to normal and his head isn't pounding like it was. The last thing he can really remember is that he wasn't thrilled about going to the hospital when that seemed a bit obvious. Well, he's still alive so maybe Gin didn't want to risk looking for him... that or he thought that there was no way Conan could survive long enough to get help... honestly, even he's kind of surprised he didn't just die that night. ]

[ Now that he can think clearly again he's laying back in bed with one arm tucked under his head staring at the ceiling and contemplating his next move. He needs to find someway to deter Gin from just attacking him again. He's not really in any shape to do anything immediately as he is still recovering from a few broken ribs and dislocated shoulder. Not to mention his hands and wrists are still bandaged. ]

[ He wonders if anyone's noticed his absence, if they had they'd probably know he was still around somewhere since people who were sent home ended up droned. His next thought is if they would bother to look for him... It was certainly possible with a few people... he's really glad Ran isn't here. She'd have torn half of Mayfield up looking for him. That thought in mind though, he manges to get down from the bed and find a phone. Not fun with broken ribs. ]

[ He'd better made this quick. If anyone tried to trace it they'd need twenty seconds at least. He has less than that to make his call. ]

Uh-hi! This is Conan...I've been gone for a few days, but don't worry, I'm fine. Well, I've got to go, but just know I'll be a few more days.

[Sherlock doesn't see a problem with this, really.]

[ Conan takes his eyes off the ceiling just long enough to let his gaze flicker over to Sherlock. He's right in the sense that if Gin doesn't know who he is they have a pretty good advantage. But is it enough of an advantage? He's never thought about it before-hes never been one to think much on hypothetical situations as he's always thought them to be a waste of time and wondering about how Sherlock Holmes would fare against Gin would count as something of a daydream. He just doesn't have time for daydreams. ]

[ So... now that it was a possibility what did he think? Gin may not know who Holmes is but he'll catch on pretty quickly that he should be regarded as a dangerous threat. ]

....Keep an eye out for explosives. [ He finally says dully. Gin is a member of the organization-more than just a member he's a supervisor. He'll want to keep the job as effective and clean as possible. Explosives would probably be a safe bet. ]

Would he be able to access explosives here?

[It is an honest question. Mayfield - everything is different to Sherlock.]

I don't know. But I'm sure he'd be able to make them.

So you're wasting valuable energy thinking about things that don't matter.

[He pauses.]

Do you know what happens when you do that? You make yourself an easy target.

Thinking about things that don't matter!?-Aagh-! [ He's honestly shocked by that but raising his voice just that little bit brings agonizing pain as his ribs violently object to the outburst. ]

He's probably working out what resources he has available right now-he hasn't done anything yet probably because he's working out what he can do. I bet it'll be explosives-I've seen it done before. Flood the hospital with gifts with no sender. Each one containing some kind of bomb.

[Sherlock is... bored. Because think, Conan. He said he'd protect you.]

It's not that simple. Everyone in hospital got one-a gift I mean.

Conan. Gifts can be refused. And I said I wouldn't leave you.

[He sighs. This boy is work and that's getting on his nerves.]

[ Conan thinks about saying something for a moment but after awhile he just settles back against his pillows. He's probably being paranoid... it isn't like this is the entire organization... so he should find some kind of safety in that... shouldn't he? ]

[ ...but then again... the organization seems to always be gnawing at the back of his mind lately. What kind of drug was it that Haibara was working on... what kind of program was Itakura convinced shouldn't be created? What could they possibly be after? ]

....Ne.... if Mayfield can bring people in from different worlds.... do you think it might be possible to travel between other worlds?

Clearly they have made it possible. But to do at at will? You'd have to ask someone I met recently. Sarah Jane Smith about that.

[And Sherlock is going to pick up his book again.]

[ He doesn't respond. He's processing information and sorting through facts he already has. But, just like always... he can't think of anything and It doesn't do any good to worry about that now. It isn't something he could find out from Gin and he can't ask Haibara-even if he could she'd never tell him. ]

[Sherlock watches Conan for a few moments, then returns to reading.]

[ He just remains silent as he tries to work through everything he knows. He has a feeling he's starting to get Sherlock's nerves and honestly his paranoid thoughts are stifling to even him. But what else can he do? Clear his mind of course but that's best achieved by kicking a soccer ball around somewhere out in the open where there's fresh air. ]

[ That's out of the question of course and will be for sometime until after his ribs are healed up. Gin did far more damage then he could possibly know in breaking his ribs. He can't play soccer like this and that means it'll be more difficult than ever to clear his head. ]

[ Not to mention he's sure if he were to even try and get up he'd only experience pain-enough of it so no one would even have to force him back down. He can't roll over either. He would love too, about now, just to feel some kind of freedom but all he can do is just stare at the ceiling. He doesn't want to sleep. With his head so filled with thoughts on the organization it would invoke nightmares for sure. ]

[ Tch. What a kid he's become. Avoiding sleep to avoid nightmares. Too bad he ends up drifting off anyway. Pulled under, probably, by what ever painkillers are still in his system. ]

[Once he can tell Conan is asleep, he sets the book down and just watches him. He's going to have to teach that boy something about the mind palace. Well, anything really to get the kid to focus better. He could tell Conan was fighting sleep - probably to avoid nightmares. Even Sherlock does that. Yes. Teach him the mind palace might be the best thing.]
