I give up. Does anyone have a good or any recipe for treacle tart? I miss it something fierce, but it's not in any of the cook books I found in this town.

Or any help in actually cooking, for that matter.

Nothing is on fire in the kitchen this time, but the place is a mess, with every bowl and container out on the counter. Lily's taken advantage of her drone mum being at a ladies club to claim the kitchen to herself, and it's not going well.

Magic's been of minimal help so far, and her attempt to bake cookies haven't gone too badly, evident by the appealing smell wafting through the window and outside. It's really everything else.


.: Action outside 1449 Mitchell Rd :.

With a fistful of smooth pebbles in hand, Lily is doing the time honored tradition of flinging one at a time at James's and Sirius's bedroom window. It's also fairly late at night, so she's trying to be quiet about it with varying levels of success.

The Evans Isles will be granted dibs on the shower, as their hair is currently reminiscent of a bread factory.

And whose fault is that? [But she's not really angry, getting up precariously to her feet. I'll take care of the floor if you get the table cleared.

[Lily gets out her wand, scourgifying the floor as best as she can.]

[Remus salutes, scrambling unsteadily to his feet and still dripping tomato as he goes about his assigned cleaning business the Muggle way.]

I blame the lass who was gullible enough to stick her face in a bag of perfectly good flour.

[bespell]

You mean gullible enough to trust you. For shame. [She moves on to the table, next, righting the chairs and polishing the wood.]

Ah you see? That's your first mistake. Didn't they tell you I wasn't as innocent as I looked?

[Remus dumped his armful of ruined foodstuffs into the rubbish bin with a crooked smile.]

[Extending an arm, Lily starts on the sleeve of her shirt, before moving to Remus's.] I was too trusting! I should have known from being a prefect with you all these years.

Oh, don't be too hard on yourself. I hide it very well.

No one expects Remus Lupin. That's part of what makes it so perfect.

It's always the quiet ones, isn't it? I'm going to have to sleep with an eye open now.

Lily, you have it on my word as a Marauder, I would never dream of accosting you in your sleep. I've been molested in the safety of my own bed one too many times to find that amusing.

Forget accosting me. It's more flour attacks I'm worried about.

Accosting is accosting, with flour or without.

Right. We can agree sleeping targets are off limit, then.

Agreed. Though I wouldn't expect the same courtesy from James and Sirius, particularly if you happen to be drunk.

Just a word of caution. Not that I would know from experience. [Remus smirks.]

Remind me to wear something with plenty of buttons if the fancy ever strikes me to get drunk with them.

Buttons are no impediment to those brutes. They'd make a game of it, I'm sure.

I've already been tricked into trespassing to a pool, and I wasn't even drunk enough for that.

That's only where the debauchery starts. And then before you know it, you're creeping around the castle at 3AM screaming obscenities at statues.

Trust me, I know who to blame for making patrolling the castle even harder.

Lily, I am going to relinquish your dibs on the shower if you don't get on with it. I think there are tomato seeds in my ear.

Fine. Fine. [She'd normally be more gracious, but Lily has more hair to wash. Getting up with a show, she rights one last chair with her wand before hurrying upstairs.]
