A) 5720 Cunningham Lane - Morning

[The last thing Christopher remembered was falling down the stairs and breaking his neck again. Which surely meant he was about to be assigned more lines.

This time it seemed as though they hadn't brought him back to his room in the castle. That was interesting. The place looked justas dull, and a bit childish, but it seemed to be a in a regular house, rather than in the castle at all.

There didn't seem to be anyone else about, either, so he decided to get up and explore his surroundings.]


B) Around Town - Anytime

[There's a young, gawky, almost-teenaged boy wandering around the town. He has the look of a newcomer about him, with how he seems to be surveying everything, peeking into shops, and generally getting a feel for the neighborhood, but he doesn't seem nearly as bothered as most of the newcomers do. He's a friendly kid, if you care to stop and chat. If you work in a shop or a restaurant, you'll probably have him come in at some point during the day, very curious about how this world works.]

[She's not anyone he recognizes. He'll approach slowly. It's rude to interrupt someone reading, but he'd like to know what's going on.]

I woke up here. [He frowns a bit.] I'd lost a life again. They must have moved me while I was out.

[Perhaps Gabriel de Witt had decided that Christopher was not responsible enough to be the next Chrestomanci after all, after he'd fallen down the stairs. Well, that suited Christopher just fine.]

Does that mean I'm to stay here now?

.......you mean you were in a different house here?

Ah yes. Well I suppose so. We have to stay in whatever house we wake up in. Where were you staying before you died?

No, I was staying at Chrestomanci castle. Where am I now?

Oh, you are new here!

Well, you're in Mayfield. It's ...a small town in America. Well a fake town. And everyone was brought here for some reason.

We're not really sure why yet. But I've been here for almost three years now.

B) Around Town

Gin doesn't seem to pay the window-kid much mind, hacking away at some long dead sow. Once he's done however, he turns- and given that he's holding a large cleaver, covered in red, and already has the eyes of a serial killer for good reason, this may not be the best place to look into.

Though he's certainly not glaring...

It doesn't bother him especially. He's never been in a proper butcher shop before, but he's familiar with the concept. He's seen the strings of dried meat hung up at festivals enough.

"Hello. What kind of meat is that?"

Hmm?

Thought he closed that window. Still, the fact that someone this kid's age isn't running/staring in horror/other related actions is mildly amusing enough for him to give a light smirk in response.

"This is pork," he answers, giving one last chop- "Pig meat."

"I know what pork is. I just couldn't tell, is all."

"Well some people apparently don't." Given the tone of his voice, it's very clear that he's been having some issues with drones today.

Lots. Of issues.

At any rate. "Are you looking for something?"

"Not especially." Christopher gives another curious look around the shop. "I'm just looking. I've just got here."

B

[There's a girl around town, seemingly doing nothing. One might mistake her for a drone considering her relaxed state and the way she seemed to fit into the period clothing. But there was a couple of things different about her. First, she seemed to have a smile that wasn't vapid or dead, and second, she was wearing a too-short dress that had the skirt removed, and flats, with her panties out on display. Clearly a sign that she was either unaware of this fashion faux pas or she just didn't care.]

Er, hello. [He's just going to ignore her outfit for now. Maybe it's normal where she comes from. Still, he's blushing a little.]
