Third Cup: The Price of Magic
Post office
[So Crown has ventured into the post office. He's heard of it and knows what might happen. He could end up dying if he goes in, but he needed to at least start from somewhere right? Everyone had something in this town back from home and he couldn't afford to wait for anything. But he decided to bear the weight of whatever it cost alone. He wasn't going to have someone come in with him and watch him mutilate himself. Even he wasn't that pragmatic.
It's only a few minutes and after signing the forms and receiving his magical potential back, it hits him all at once. Inside of him he felt like something had stabbed their hand into his side and raggedly broke off one of his ribs. But it's not over with just that. It feels as if another hand stabs into his side and just rips out one of his kidney's, and still as unclean as the first. He clutches his side, there's no blood but he can feel it. He just lost one of his organs.
As he stumbles out of the post office, he's just stumbling around in the streets. It's not so much the loss of the organ and the rib, but the blinding pain of having both ripped out so unceremoniously.]
Phone
[He's managed to make it home, but he's still in a lot of pain. Picking it up weakly he presses it to his ear.]
Remus...I will have to cancel our lesson today.
But if anyone has healing powers in this town, I would greatly appreciate them right now.

Yay Crown gets to play with Ilsa 8D
[Cause, you know, internal bleeding is not fun.]
YAY! =D
[ She's there in a very short time. If the door isn't unlocked, there might need to be some repairs later. ]

[ She sets a large tackle box beside her as she kneels at his side. ]

[He manages just ot breathe this out.]
I think one of my ribs is missing and possibly something around here.
[He's just going to gesture to somewhere on his skin. He's really not sure what's gone but it was probably important.]

[ She ignores the kit for now, a small light-blue witchlight cradled in her palm as her hand hovers under the areas he indicates. ]
Missing a kidney - not a big problem except for the bleeding. This is only going to be a suture or two.
[ Her face goes still, and pale. ]
no subject
[His eyes move to the light in her hand though as she does this. So, she had magic?]
Hm...well I hear people only need one...
no subject
Properly donated... sure...
[ Ilsa's going from pale to grey, now. There's a lessening of the weakness related to the bleeding, but that rib is still grating. ]
no subject
Stop. If this is injuring you to heal my wounds you should not have taken this task.
[It sounds biting, but there's legitimate concern in there somewhere. He doesn't want to have the knowledge that he just hurt someone for his own price.]

[ Her weak chuckle sounds like a cluck. But she pulls back, and sighs. ]
I could only stop the major bleeding, but lifting anything is going to be out of the question for another week. As if you didn't have rib damage to stop that. Only thing I can do with that is help immobilize it.
[ She reaches for her kit, and pulls out an elastic bandage. ]
no subject
Hmph...well...thank you for fixing it than.
[As to why you did it, it's totally over his head.]
My name is Crown Blanchard, might I know your name ma'am?
no subject
[ She eases his shirt up to begin binding his ribs. ]
How long have you been here?
no subject
Dr.Higa, all right....
And I have been here for about a month now.

[ She finishes the bandage, and closes the tackle box. ]
Next trick is to get you up off the floor without straining either of us. Think we can do it?
no subject
Still, desperate times call for desperate measures as they say.
[He'll nod to her as she says the next bit though.]
I should be able to. [And he'll reach for the table nearby and grab the edge of it trying to pull himself up. Sorry Ilsa, he's not a very good patient.]
no subject
No lifting anything for a few days, even if you do get your sword back. That may take a while, though.
I'll check on you tomorrow, but for now, sleeping on the couch would be better for you than climbing the stairs.
[ She leans against the wall a few moments more. ]
Been a while since I did any psychic surgery.
no subject
I had figured as much. [He'll need to find another healer if that's the case. He can't sit around and do nothing for several days after all.]
I will be sure to do that than...
[He'll look to her curiously as she mentions that.]
Is that what you call that healing magic from where you are from?
no subject
[ She's able to stand with minimal support, now. ]
Most people in my world don't know magic is real, but I'm also a medical doctor, with a psychiatric focus.
no subject
Hm...I apologize for becoming a burden on you than.
[He'd bow but it'd hurt to do that right now.]
Hm...it is similar to my world than. The non magical do not know the existence of magic either.
no subject
[ She'll hold out her hand to him. ]
If you aren't much improved in the morning, we'll see if I need to go in again, or if we can get another of the healers in. Right now, you need rest.
no subject
[He expects himself to go over by himself, but the offer of the hand from her, confuses him a little. He looks to her and than back to it. It takes him a moment to hear her.]
Hm? Oh, uh yes. Of course. [He will slowly take her hand though as he uses her as a crutch towards the couch.]
no subject
You'll probably feel tired for the next twenty to thirty hours, that's normal. Do you have anyone aware in the house with you?
