[Yuna's out for some basketball practice as usual, but today she's decided to have a little bit more fun with it than usual.  She's always wanted to try a real dunk shot, since it looks so cool in live action shows.  So after she's done with her usual drills with dribbling, free throws, three point shots, and the like, she can be found taking full speed headlong runs straight at the hoop, trying to get enough lift to slam the ball straight through the hoop.  Of course, she isn't having much luck with it - she's only 5'3", after all, and these are regulation hoops she's dealing with here.  Even still, Yuna is nothing if not determined, so she'll keep on trying for as long as her stamina holds out.]

Geez... they make this look so easy on TV!

[Or you might catch her when she's finally tired herself out, sitting on the bleachers.  She's got a towel with her, wiping some sweat from her forehead while she drinks from a plastic water bottle.  Either way, she's spending the better part of the afternoon here today.]

[Sweetie Belle walks onto the court and is immediately hit in the face by a stray ball. The ball bounces off her nose and into the basket.]

Hey did you see that? That was pretty cool, maybe this is my special talent.

I'm fine but I think I'm onto something could you pass me that ball again please?

[Yuna bounce-passes it over to Sweetie Belle.]

[Makie watched Yuna trying to slam dunk her way to victory. When she got tired however, she held out a glass of water from a pitcher filled with ice water.]

Looking good out there, Yuna!

Whew... I'm beat!

[Yuna smiles, flopping back onto the bleachers next to her friend and gladly taking the water.]

Still can't get enough lift to reach the hoop, though.

I think you need a couple more inches just to be safe. We don't stop growing after all.

[Grinning still.] Good job though.

Maybe I should have asked Negi-sensei to teach me a flight spell instead!

[She laughs a little before taking a big long gulp of water.]

[ Nanoha catches the ball as it rebounds away from the rim. She's standing there in her own work-out clothes, consisting of a loose t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers. ] Doesn't everything look easier on TV? [ She smiles, having admired the girl's efforts for several minutes already. ]

[Yuna grins, jogging on over.]

You working out today too?

Hi, Yuna. [ Nanoha bounces the ball a couple of times at her feet before offering it to the girl. ] Actually, I just finished my jogging rounds. I haven't checked out what equipment is available at this center, before.

[Yuna catches the ball, tucking it under her arm for the time being.]

It's not too bad, actually! I usually use the gym at the high school, but since it's still summer vacation, it's closed.

[Yuna grins, waving at Rin before taking another try.]

Okay... here I go!

[Setting off and dribbling the ball downcourt as fast as she can, Yuna takes it in her hands just short of the hoop and pushes off hard, jumping up and trying to get enough air for a sweet-ass dunk shot. Unfortunately, the height deficit isn't really something she can overcome, and while she does still manage a very graceful lay-up, it's not exactly what she wanted.]

[ Rin's only here for the swimming pool and that's it. However, she does pause to watch her 'apprentice' with an interested look on her face. ]

You must be too heavy to jump that high. [ If Rin's starting a diet, she was going to trick everyone else into doing one too. ]

[Good for you, Rin, Yuna's kind of gullible like this. She frowns, dropping the ball and looking down at her stomach, pinching at some skin at the side of her waist.]

The good news is I'm thinking of starting up a diet, so you should consider doing it with me. Not only will it help with your, er, problem, but it'll make you healthier too.

[Marisa doesn't remember slam dunks being covered in her basketball lesson all those months ago.]

What's that?

It's when you take a running start toward the basket, jump off the ground, and slam the ball down through the hoop with your hands. It's pretty hard to pull off since you have to be able to jump really high.

Most ball players who dunk are either at least 6 feet tall, or at least otherwise gifted in jumping~
