[Leia isn't too pleased when she gets a phone call telling her she's been missing work. After explaining that no, she did not in fact cut hair for a living, she's told to go down to the shop or lose her job. Which is no doubt code for droning in some manner so today you can find Leia....]

[A. Barber shop: No she does not look very happy about it. However you might notice the drones with long hair seem to be getting some strange hair styles. Lots of braids and things like that. Gee it's almost like someone's a star wars fan or...oh wait. If you walk in the store Leia will look over.]

It may have taken them a while but they finally got around to giving me a job. Do they look for jobs we wouldn't enjoy having or is it simply my bad luck? Either way, I'll be at the "barbershop".

It seems as long as I'm in the building they think the same thing with my job.

That sounds about right. The only people I've heard of really doing their assigned jobs are some of the teachers.

Really? They actually teach classes here?

What do the students think?

I've never heard of anyone sticking to the assigned curriculum, but there's actual teaching happening. Susan in particular is legendary for requiring actual work.

She's my assigned husband's granddaughter. She actually is a teacher at home, so that probably makes a difference.

I never had to learn how to cut hair for that.

I can't think of many places where the two would be related.

I'm not sure selling makeup could have less to do with what I do at home.

I'm an anthropomorphic personification. The concept of death given a humanlike form... when I'm dealing with humans, anyway.

I thought death didn't work properly here.

No. It doesn't.

[She sounds slightly irritated]

If I were actually in charge of it here, things would be very different.

I'm rather glad you're not then.

It's hard enough to keep people alive here. And I'd much rather have some people left at the end of this.

Meddling like this is dangerous. It's the sort of thing that inevitably ends in disaster. I don't like the way they keep trying to kill everyone here any more than the humans here do, but sooner or later the interference is going to come back to cause problems. More than it already has.

Given how many other ways they're meddling, I highly doubt fixing just one of them would do much good. Especially given how people are taken from different time periods here.

Having them die stuck in this world would do wonders to history, I'm sure.

[There's a slight sigh]

I'm not saying it's the only thing that's wrong. It's just the one I'm an expert on. Changing history is something you'd have to ask Destiny about, but he is fortunately not here.

Either way, it seems like the type of situation you'd need to fix all aspects of. Rather then just one.

Yes... there is that. My family's always been very particular about sticking to our own domains though. It gets ugly otherwise.

What domains do your family have?

Destiny, dreams, destruction, desire, despair and delirium. Forces of existence.

What do you do exactly?

Make sure those aspects run smoothly. I make sure people end up where they should afterwards. Dream crafts new dreams. THe younger ones... well, they come to people as they fall into their particular realm.
