event: new and improved; factory day 2

[Welcome to the Factory.

A blackened, dilapidated building sitting on the edge of town, it seems to have appeared out of nowhere overnight. It is surrounded by an electrified fence; should anyone on the outside (or the inside) try to cross it, they will find themselves repelled by the force with painful electric shocks. No amount of strength, size, magic, or flying ability will get you past the fence.

The Factory itself looks like it's been through hell. It's falling apart on the outside. Half of the building looks collapsed. The bricks are scorched. All of the window frames are rusted. It certainly doesn't look like a place that should be up and running, but it is. Dr. Johnson and her team are scurrying around the building, performing treatments, operations, and experimentations- making 'improvements'.

Following your treatment and/or surgery, you wake up- or don't- in a filthy room. It's nothing like the fairly sterile surgery room had been. You're crammed in there with dozen other 'patients', each in varying stages of recovery.

You're probably in moderate to severe pain. The pain might be so great that you are incapable of moving. Perhaps some of your limbs are missing or maybe you find huge gaps in your memory. Maybe you're very sick with some disease you don't recall developing. Either way, you were sent in for 'improvements', and you've been 'improved' as much as Dr. Johnson thinks you needed.

If they're lucid enough, the other patients will probably talk to you. You'll find that, like you, they're all non-drone townspeople.

You'll be contained here for 24 hours. Following that, you'll be released. When you leave the building, you'll find yourself outside the hospital in Mayfield with the Factory nowhere to be seen.

The Factory rooms are as follows:

Recovery: A large recovery room with dozens and dozens of gurneys and beds. It's filled with equipment like IVs and medical charts. This is where all characters will wake up. It's very unsanitary in here.

Operating room: Where you endured your surgery, treatment, and/or experiment. All operating and medical supplies are still here. Dr. Johnson is nowhere to be found.

Supply room: Standard medical supplies are found here. They include typical doctors' equipment, bandages, medicines, and the like. There's nothing particularly strong or lethal here, nor is there anything sharp which could be used as a weapon.

Lobby: The front lobby of the Factory. Designed like a hospital lobby, it also contains the waiting room. Dated 1950s magazines are strewn everywhere.

Let me help you there. Excellent mights is passed down in the Armstrong family from generation to generation!

And now she's grabbing Nena's arm and pulling her fist out of the crater it's stuck in.]

Haha! That wasn't very hard.

[ She didn't know the lady was this strong! She grins as she's able to stand up once and for all now. ]

Wow! You're really really strong! Thanks for helping me get out of the crater. [ She seems a bit too cheerful today, but oh well. ] How did you get to be so strong? [ She needs to know her secret! In order to properly wield this clumsy arm, it's a necessity. ]

[She gets really close to her, close enough to whisper the secret in her ear, but starts laughing before she can say anything.]

[Once she seems to get herself under control, she puts on the best straight face she can.]

Fighting bears! And genetics.

[bridezilla]

You fight bears?! You mean like the super strong ones they have in Mayfield?! [ IGNORING THE GENETICS STUFF she can steal Olivier's DNA and fuse with it later. Or at least, that's what she believes.

FIGHTING BEARS IS MORE IMPORTANT. ]

I imagine the ones here aren't any worse than the mountain bear back home, but I haven't needed to practice lately, so I wouldn't know.

When we get out of here, I can help you go hunt those bears in the forest!

[bridezilla]

Well! They're immune to a lot of damage like bullets and magic, but I think swords can help kill them! Maybe we can take my robot and shoot lasers at it for target practice!

[ oh god you are Nena's new favorite person LET HER LOVE YOU. ]

Your robot even has lasers?

[Do you see the stars in her eyes?]

That would be a wonderful way to spend the day!

[bridezilla]

Of course it has lasers! It also has a giant sword, a giant shield, a rifle, a hand-gun, and all of those fun stuff!

[ Olivier is in heaven! ]

Good, good! Do you still live in the same place as last time?! Or is it different?! I'll call you up sometime so we can plan the day together!

[She thinks for a moment.]

I don't know where I was before, but now I'm at 1671 Nelson. Give me a call anytime!

That's not too far form where you used to live! You used to live on the same exact street! [ The most cheerful post surgery conversation ever! ]

Really? That's quite the coincidence!

Where do you live?

[bridezilla]

Yeah. I remembered cause one time I biked in front of your house and crashed into a pole and you just brought your palm to your face and went inside. [ this legitimately happened! ]

I live on Bunker Street though!

[queen_of_swords]

Have you ever tried skating? [She giggles and, after looking around to make sure no one else was listening, she drops her voice down to a whisper.] I skated into a pole when I was first learning.

[bridezilla]

[ She giggles with her because getting hurt by skating into a pole are just too funny! ] I haven't tried skating but it sounds very very funny!

[queen_of_swords]

Oh, it really is, you can get around so much faster, too!

[bridezilla]

I'll take it up as soon as I get out of this place, okay?

[queen_of_swords]

Sounds good! Where should I meet you?

[bridezilla]

Outside your home! I know where you live after all! [ It sounds just as creepy here as it would in any other context. ]

[queen_of_swords]

I'll be on the lookout for you then!

[bridezilla]

You better cause I'm the next greatest thing! [ And after this, Nena hisses a bit when a pain in her arm suddenly is tangible. ] Speaking of next greatest thing, I think I'm going to rest for a bit. This arm isn't going to adjust by being awake all day.
