Tale 009: Intel and regains

754 Partridge Drive

[Henry has opened up the mail to find a card and a certain walkie talkie. He flips the card over as it shows a picture of a castle. Blinking, he looks out the window, to see in the back that his castle in the backyard. Not destroyed like Regina had done to it. A smile broadens on his face.] (Locked to house mates)

[Later]

[Henry is waiting for those he called on the phone to show up.] (Opened to all.)

Phone [Filtered from the drones and The mayor and the Lucy household]

[So after the horrors of the Carnival, Henry is on the phone and has filtered this call.]

It's Henry. I made it back from the Carnival thanks to Lucas and I managed to find some stuff out. I'm not going to share it over the phonelines, even if it's filtered it might be too dangerous. So come to 754 Partridge Drive. I'll be in the back yard in my castle.

[Henry's in his castle and he's going through his notes. When he looks up he see's that boy he's caught glimpses of.]

Hey, I'm guessing you're answering my call?

Of course.

[ He offers a small smile and pulls his notepad out of his pocket. ] I have a few things that I found while I was in house 501.

Great! I only went in there once and we didn't find anything.

[He first pulls out a flyer, handing it to Conan.]

Lucas helped me fill in the details about this. Apparently we're inside some kind of Emulation or a computer, I think.

[ He takes the flyer in one hand and hands Henry his note pad with the other. ]

What I have was only what I heard on a prerecorded record- I couldn't get the record itself, unfortunately.

[ -couldn't be better. He's given us everything we could have wanted, and more. Why do you have to go and ruin it with talk like this? You always do this!

I'm just saying, what if Grey was on to something? We didn't really give it much thought, but now that we have a chance to calm down and really think about it-

-we'll what, exactly? Go to Johnathan and tell him thanks, it's been a swell week, but we'd like to come back down to earth now? How do you think the poor man would take that, after all the work he's done? Did you even see the carnival outside?

It's the carnival that got me thinking about this. I didn't realize just how much power we were giving this fellow. If he can conjure something like that out of thin air, who knows what he could do to us if he felt up to it?

Charles! You're acting like he's some bloodthirsty communist or something. The man is a saint, and we owe him our lives. I won't have you embarrassing me in front of the other survi- citizens like this.

I suppose you're right. Even if we did want to go back, I suppose that's out of the question now...

Now that's more like it. Why don't we go to the carnival today? You need to relax- (too much static)

[Henry reads the note over.]

Survi-? Was that person going to say survivors? If that's true...what was the whole point of Mayfield to begin with?

[Henry does take the time to write this down though.]

We also found this in the Tunnel of love. It was two people talking. I managed to get everything I think.

[He hands his notebook over to Conan on this page.]

[ He's reading it over carefully and then goes back to the flyer- a small smirk slowly making its way across his features. Oh. Things are starting to come together. ]

Go ahead, that's the point. We need to share what we know.

[Henry has also come to a realization.]

I don't even know your name. But, I'm Henry.

[ He nods and doesn't waste any time copying the notes. ]

Huh? Oh-right! I'm Conan. Conan Edogawa, a detective.

A detective? Than you really need everything I have.

[He pulls out a newspaper from his bag.]

I'm really not sure about this one though...it could be a joke but at the same time Mayfield is also weird.

[ He reads over it carefully, giving it a disdainful look. ]

I'm not sure if it's a prank or not. The newspaper could have been intended to raise suspicion on Zemekis. But from this we've learned something very important- Richard Grey was a reporter.

Maybe...I mean he could be an Alien. The milk does apparently make people sick...

But how is Richard being a reporter something important?

Because. If he was a good reporter than it's probable that he's left his findings somewhere. Findings that can tell us what is exactly what Mayfield is supposed to be-or was supposed to be.

Mm... It might explain why there's only a sixty percent chance of getting regular milk. And the razor blades might actually be the eggshells breaking up and cutting the insides. However, it doesn't explain why it can be either lethal or make you extremely sick. I'd have to take a sample of contaminated milk and look at it under a microscope.

I don't think the library would have the old findings than. The mayor and Lucy probably made sure to burn them if there was...or maybe they hid them somewhere...

[He's jumping to conclusions. Anyways back to the milk.]

There's a chance you can get regular milk in this place?

But maybe...it would make sense. But maybe the eggs just hatch when you die? So they poison the milk to kill you but the eggs are immune to it?

If he knew what he was doing then he's hidden it where they won't find it. And I bet Annie knows where it is.

[ And the milk. ]

Ah, yes. But you can't predict if it's regular milk so it's better to just avoid it all together. The eggs might just be poisonous themselves until you taste it.

Annie? I thought something bad happened to her.

I guess it's better if we avoid the milk anyways, like you said. Still, why would they give it to us everyday if no one is gonna drink it?

I think Annie's still around somewhere-I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

I don't know... but I can't help but think of the strange fact that most UFO and alien abductions back in my world all have something to do with cows.

I wonder if they have her locked up somewhere...

[If that was true, they had to save her.]

Mm, yeah that's what usually happens in stories and in movies in my world. But, they probably really happen too.

It's possible...

[ He makes a face. ]

I never really paid attention to those stories before-they're usually either really confused or just out for their fifteen minutes of fame.

Well maybe it'll be different here?

Maybe. Different universe different rules. In any case, it would be best for you to avoid the milk all together.
