Well it seems like something grand is finally going to happen. It seems to be putting many people in a state of panic, but before that escalates to a higher level, I'd like to offer my support.

I'm an enchantress, you see; I can put together most kinds of machinery and equipment, provided I have the material for it. I've been working on a separate communications system for those who won't have access to phones or anyone while they're exploring: communication crystals. I doubt the town will have any access to these, so if anyone's interested in helping me test them, I'd greatly appreciate it.

But since everyone will want to prepare, I'd like to help out with that as well. Weapons, defenses, utility items...if it's within my power, I'll make it. The town will likely be restless for a while, so anyone who needs my services is free to contact me; my name is Kreutzer.

Ah yes, the glorious microchip...perhaps a workaround will be discovered. Until then, it's still very much possible to accomplish the same things.

I imagine I'll eventually light upon something similar in function, yes, but not form. Everything I've been tinkering with has been quite a bit bulkier than what I'm used to.

Sadly, things will be bulkier here, but it should be fine as long as they fulfill their purpose well enough.

Very much so. Part of the joy of science is the testing, after all. Trial and error can be very invigorating.

But rather...messy under certain conditions, sadly. I'm stuck here in a house full of drones--they're rather inadequate as far as testing goes...

In terms of reactions, yes. They're rather useless in responses, but something more along the lines of what a chemical can do when in contact with flesh...they still have their uses.

Ah, but they're useless when responses are all you're really interested in testing...they have mindless cheerful obedience down to a science.

In which case, you are correct. For proper research, you would have to use the more conscious inhabitants of the town, though they likely won't appreciate it.

Yeah, but you could say I have a way with people under the right circumstances. I've talked people into some...pretty interesting business propositions.

Ah, so you have a way of leading people along as well? How fascinating...I'd love to hear more about it.

Yeah, I guess you could call it leading them along if you really wanted to...I'd like to hear more of your methods, as well. Perhaps we should meet in person sometime.

We certainly should. Perhaps after this carnival mess comes to a close? I'm sure it'll ruin any attempt at peaceful moments it can.

Oh, undoubtedly it will. A meeting of the minds after this madness has passed would probably work better.
