[Saori wasn't expecting any sort of mail, let alone a package. There was a small box sitting on porch, addressed to her but no return address written on it. Was this one of those regain she heard and read about? Only one way to find out. She picked up the box and shook it. Very light, almost as if it was empty.  The drones in her house were gone at work and at school so opening it now would probably be the best time.]

[She sat down on the porch and opened the box. Poof! A large cloud of smoke  escaped from the box. She coughed and began to wave the smoke away from her face. Instead of the smoke dissipating, it clung onto her fingers and followed their movement. That could only mean..yes! She got one of her powers back! Saori let out a shriek in joy.  Never mind any people passing by, she's begins to play around with the smoke, forming little animated creatures and shapes.]

Well, that was rather interesting to say the very least. Now that things have calmed down, I suppose it's a good time to ask this: Where can I get a job? Yes, I know my choices are limited but I just really need to get out of the house now. My sole housemate's droned and frankly I think I'll go insane if I'm stuck in that house all the time. Not to mention the idea of being a wife to a drone when I'm already married back home is awkward to say the very least.

I don't mind office work but I'd like to do something more hands on like baking or cooking.

I've never heard of jobs outside the ones that the town gives people, though...

No, it hasn't actually. I guess they thought I'd be satisfied with being a housewife. Again, I wouldn't have a problem with that if I was with my husband and not some imposter.

Maybe you could start your own restaurant if you like cooking or baking so much. I know there used to be a cosplay cafe... though I'm not sure if it's still here.

[Death tends to notice what the neighbours are up to. And the sight of Saori playing with smoke makes her smile. Almost reminds her of Del.]

[Saori was engrossed with powers, forming a Japanese crane out of the smoke and at the sound of Death's voice, it melted back into regular smoke.]

Oh, um, thank you. It's just a great relief to have this ability back.

It is. Honestly, I went through my living life without knowing about my power and I can survive without it. I just can't imagine what it's like for those who lose so much more to become 'human' to this town.

Death, huh? I'm not a stranger to that. Can't say I never encountered anything like this before though. So are you more of a personification of death or something else?

"We?" So there are multiples...Very interesting. Then again, this is a place that gathers beings from different worlds so it shouldn't be a surprise really.

Oh. Wow. I would think having multiple versions living even under the same roof would cause issues but I guess not. Was it awkward meeting with your counterpart?

In terms of official employment we seem to be subject to the town's whims. I've found it best to fill the time with projects of my own.

Hmm, I might have to do that considering the town never informed me about a job since my arrival.

[She sighs.]

I finally have all the time possible and I don't have my father's works to translate. To think it's been taking me this long to work on it and it's still not finished...I'm a little embarrassed by it.

Things do tend to come up. If you're interested in baking, I suspect that would be a business with a lot of customers, as much as Mayfield is loath to admit it.

Yes, I heard about that cosplay cafe. It's going to take some planning, especially when it comes to money but I might be able to make it work. I'll never know unless I try, right?

No kidding. Well, in a strange a way it's a bit of a break for me. Fifty years of fighting supernatural creatures who want to eat innocent souls for power boosts gets rather tiring. Not to mention not much time to devote to things outside of work.

Sometimes the town itself will assign you a job, but if that doesn't happen, then there are always people wanting to learn skills such as cooking here.

That's what it's starting to sound like. The more I think about it, maybe it's not that bad. Maybe I should try going to doing private cooking lessons here.

I don't suppose you might know anyone who could be a potential student, would you?

Actually, I know quite a lot of people who would benefit from a lesson or two, but most of them are completely unteachable. I don't suppose I could sign up though, could I?

If my house wasn't swamped with drones, I would have my lessons here. I'll probably have to conduct lessons at your place.

I can make a few basic things - toast, omelettes, spaghetti and so on. I'd really like to learn to bake, if that's possible.

Ooh, baking I can definitely help with! I'll look into some simple recipes to start. Don't worry, I'll provide the ingredients as well. I suppose I'll call you when I get everything prepared. Are there any days where there might be schedule conflicts?
