Fifteenth Miracle

[Lion is from an alternate universe where his adoptive mother Natsuhi, who was given a baby to raise by Kinzo Ushiromiya after failing to produce an heir to the Ushiromiya headship, could no longer handle the pressure and resentment of raising a baby that wasn't hers and pushed the servant holding the child off a cliff. In Lion's universe Natsuhi did not succumb to the pressure put on her, and the baby would grow up to be the Lion you're all familiar with.

In other worlds, however, Lion was not so lucky. The servant died, but the baby survived, although badly injured. Luckily the child would be rescued and raised to work as a servant at the Ushiromiya mansion. To others, the child was known only as "Yasu". In order to keep Natsuhi from being suspicious of where this child came from, Yasu was presented as being six years old rather than nine years old when first put to work. Since Yasu was rather small and frail, this wasn't difficult.

Lion, as Yasu, is very different. Often bullied and belittled by the other servants, Yasu is shy, withdrawn and clumsy, a far cry from how Lion usually is. As Yasu, Lion will believe that he's only about six or seven years old. Lion will also believe that he's female, since it's implied that Yasu was raised this way because of her injuries and to avoid suspicion over who she really was.]

[Since a servant of the Ushiromiya family has to be up early, Yasu has gotten up, eaten whatever was in the fridge, and is diligently cleaning the windows. Huh. Lion doesn't normally do that kind of housework...]

B: On the way back from the general store
[Since they've run out of some cleaning supplies, Yasu has gone to get some and is now heading home. Unfortunately Yasu may have overestimated how much was needed. Those are an awful lot of bags...]

[C: Phone]
Um... [There's someone taking a deep breath over the phone as though to steady themselves. Even though Yasu has been here for over a year, making public calls still isn't easy. Focus, Yasu. You can do this.] I was wondering...since there are people from different worlds here...some of you have magic where you're from, right? Or...witches, maybe? I was just wondering if anyone could tell me about what they're like where you're from. You don't have to if you don't want to, but...I'd really like to know, if that's okay...

[While that is Lion's voice, it's a lot more hesitant and timid than Lion usually sounds. Weird.]
