[Tohru's first thought after waking up in a strange house is that perhaps she had collapsed or been in some sort of accident. Maybe some good Samaritan was looking after her.
Her second though is 'oh no what if I was kidnapped!?!' What could kidnappers possibly want from her? She didn't have any money. Oh, but the Sohma's did! What if the kidnapper demanded a ransom from them? Or from Uo-chan and Hana-chan! Or from poor Grandfather!

No, wait. That's silly. The first idea was more likely. It was probably some kind person helping her out. She can't quiiite shake the feeling of nervousness, which leaves her timidly exploring the house. She's peering around corners, carefully knocking before opening any doors, and softly calling out.]

He-hello? Is anyone home? I'm sorry to intrude....

[Later, when her not!family has explained a few things, she gets on the phone.]

Hello everyone!

Um, I just got here today. And I heard that I can talk to all the other people trapped here on the phone, so......

I thought this might be a good time to introduce myself. My name is Tohru Honda, and I'll be living on Brooks street starting today! I look forward to meeting all of you.

Umm, first of all, I don't think I really understand what a drone is. O-or why we can't drink milk. And is the mayor the one who brought us here? Or is it the Smith family?

[He doesn't mind the avalanche of questions, he's used to being crowded around by kids going rapid fire at him. Tohru is a cakewalk.]

Drones are basically the natives of this place. This is their home and they think this is your home too and that you've always been here. Think of them like background movie characters if that means anything to you.

The milk thing only applies to the milk that the milkman brings every morning. It's filled with bad stuff. Really bad stuff. The milk from the store is just fine though.

As for the one who brought us here, we're still tryin' to figure it out. But we do know that it has something to do with the Smith family and the Mayor for sure, but we don't have all the pieces to that puzzle yet. I don't recommend askin' them directly either, that tends to have some pretty bad consequences.

But I've heard.... that people can become drones?

[/nervous]

What kind of bad consequences? If youe just want to talk to them.... they wouldn't hurt someone over that. Would they?

They can, sometimes it's temporary, sometimes it's not. They become just like the normal drones.

As for the Smiths...it's hit and miss, but a lot of the times contact consequences are violent. Like I'm talkin' slasher movie violent.

S-slasher movie?!? You mean they'll actually....?

[The visions in her head are horrible. And sadly almost accurate.]

Yeah. Think of the worst thing that you know of,and make it ten times worse. Stay away from 'em.

[The worst she can think of involves family and friends dying. But how could you make that ten times worse? Ten relatives or friends?]

I know. That's why we're tryin' to figure out how to get out of here with out directly contacting the Smiths.

Probably. We all need to stick together if we're gonna get out of this mess, we just don't know what the trick is yet.

I'll do anything I can to help out! And with everyone working together, it should all work out in the end.

Is there anything special I'm supposed to do while I'm here? Any rules I should remember? I don't want to get in trouble if I can help it...

Special? Hmm, well, just go to school or work most of the time, and don't stay away from home longer then three days. Umm...stay away from murderous rampages? [He's somewhat joking on this one...but it is a valid warning for those who are prone to them.]

Oh no! School! How will I catch up? It's so late in the year that I'll never be able to pass my finals....

[Yeah, she is legit worried about this.]

Hey, hey, chill! The school here is super easy and there generally isn't that many hard tests.

But I'm not a very good student.... I study a lot but still get bad grades sometimes....

And I promised Mom I'd graduate...

Don't worry. If you're worried about your grades back home, when you leave this place you go back to exactly when you left. And here...the grades don't really matter.

I wasn't so hot in school myself.
