[It had been a week since Bazett had made her big mistake. A week since she had last spoken to Hayate. She had thought to herself whether or not she should just ignore it and let it fade from memory, since Hayate seemed to have adjusted well.]

[However, every time she is tempted to do that, she is hit by a fresh wave of guilt. Surely, Hayate was putting on an act to keep her from feeling guilty. And even if Hayate did not mind, Bazett would always remember and regret ravishing her friend and superior. Also, seeing as this is a small town, what would happen to Hayate if everyone found out Bazett's indiscretion? How much pain would she have to go through? Could she really hide like a coward and let Hayate bare the rumors and the subsequent social rejection?]

[There is no other way. Bazett would have to take responsibility. However, she has absolutely no idea on how to ask anyone out on a date, much less asking them to enter into a stable relationship. This is why she is currently putting out a call to the rest of Mayfield.]

1. Phone (public; filtered away from drones and Hayate Yagami)

...How do you ask someone on a date? Or...um...how do you ask them to be your girlfiend...?

2. Phone (private to Rin Tohsaka)

Tohsaka, there are matters that I wish to discuss with you.

3. Phone (private to Hayate Yagami)

Commander, could you please meet me at Makeout Point tonight at 7:00 sharp? I have important matters that I need to discuss.

4. Florist

[This is the second time Bazett has gone into the flower shop, but she looks even more guilty than the first time.]

Roses, roses...where are the roses?

5. Makeout Point (locked to Hayate Yagami)

[Bazett stands at the point, holding a large boquet of roses and blushing redder than a beet. She mentally goes through all her lines and actions. Tonight has to be absolutely perfect. Hayate deserved no worse.]

[Bazett shoves the flowers at Hayate, still blushing scarlet.]

[One should...compliment the date, right? As far as she can remember, it needed to be something specific so it could show that she is paying attention.]

I...want to give you a specific compliment, but everything from your dress to your hair is so perfect that I cannot think of anything that outshines the rest!

[In her anxiety, she had just spouted off the first thing in her mind.]

[Despite herself, Hayate felt herself going incredibly red as she nodded.] I see. That is quite the compliment Bazett. But you've got something in mind. Relax and try and tell me what you feel, okay?

[Moving closer, Hayate leaned in as she cupped the roses in her hands.] Bazett... are you asking to marry me?

[Of course not that would be ridiculous! But... the thought had crossed her mind admittedly. She was likewise nervous. And her mind being the way it was, tripped up and went from date to marry.]

[Then she realizes what she had said.]

[She is willing to go that far to compensate Hayate.]

Then hope springs dashed onto rocks.

And then finally, hope is then smashed against a bus being driven by astonishment.]

You... you'd really marry me? Even after everything, all those jokes I pull on you and... [Hayate blushed, ducking her head.] I don't know what to say except maybe a fiance would be nice... I am getting on in my years... and even if we can't live together and all...

I will...take it as far as you wish me to. After all, you are a very good friend. And...I would like it very much if we could become something more.

[Technically this is not a lie. It is a truth that she has sworn that night with her body.]

So yes. I was prepared to...ask you to be my girlfriend. But if you wish, I can change it into asking you to become my fiancee.

[Ah there's the rub~ Hayate giggled, shaking her head.] Girlfriend would be wonderful first. Even I'm not quite going to shotgun wedding this out.

And, I need time to show my girlfriend off in cute clothing too.

You do realize we need to announce this. And start by mending fences with the people that are antagonistic towards you and such. [She pokes Bazett in the arm.] No making people mad, okay? That's going to be rule one to being my girlfriend. Okay?

[Bazett nods. Even without Hayate's orders, she was still thinking of repairing her relations with other magic users.]

I will do my best to adjust my speech and actions. Since most magic users here seem to be benign, I do not believe I will need to interfere with them. The problem is trying to apologize for my past behavior...

[She drew close to Bazett, taking her flowers and sniffing them.] How did you know Roses were my favorite?

I originally had something else prepared. A fancier confession.

[And leaning in, Hayate placed her lips against Bazett's, kissing her deeply. All seemed perfect, magical and wonderful.

And then Hayate's hand grabbed Bazetts' butt. Oh firm~]
