Yes! A valve! That sounds excellent!

[And if Bail follows Otoya to the sink in question, he'll see that it's very badly backed up, and that water is bubbling out from the drain. It is clearly not good, but it's not exactly a "water volcano" either.]

[The water continues bubbling upward ominously. Every now and then, an air bubble will break the surface. Otoya is eyeing this with some trepidation. There is a good reason he's called a plumber.]
