A. [Location: Tailor Shop (inside)]

[Norway rather quickly found that this is where he's supposed to be working. Tailoring has never been something he's tried, but at his age he can turn his hand to most things. He enjoys the relative quiet, and the way that he can pick up gossip as people seem to forget that he's there as he's silently taking their measurements. Already he has seen several examples of the 'drones' that he has been told about, and has forced himself to behave normally with each of them. It's enough to give him a headache.

Anyone coming into the shop during the day would find him sitting at a table, turning up the sleeves on a dinner jacket]


B. [Location: John Doe Park]

[At half past five, Norway can be found in the park, sitting on one of the benches. He would appear to be alone, but quietly humming to himself, occasionally murmuring a few words, made half-tuneless by the volume.

He seems content, but will anyone speak with him?]

[He nods slightly]

I have been conflicted, Latvia, over whether or not to tell Danmark the full details of the time that separates us. I do not think that he would believe me, but...

[The man not knowing makes him so.. angry]

[He pauses, just a moment, at that last statement, then seems to shrug mentally. He pulls the tape measure from around his neck]

You are free to have your dislike of my presence. I have no quarrel with you in this place.

[Latvia thinks for a moment. Luckily for him the people he's been close to have been from around the same time as him. There's Russia, but he doesn't want to spend the time around him to explain]

You could try... whether he believes you or not I suppose it doesn't really matter.

He's from a long time ago, right? So... the time we're from, he's already returned from Mayfield. So whether you tell him or not it won't change the course of history because for us, whatever you've told him has already had its effect.

... Or something like that.

I don't think people remember when they come back. People told me that I was here before but I don't remember a thing either.

[He shakes his head]

I would not tell him in order to change the future.

[He scratches the back of his head sheepishly, not really knowing what else he could be on about. He had an idea, but he never really liked to meddle in the affairs of others]

Well... like I said, whatever you tell him he won't remember when he gets home.

Mm.

[He seems to think for a few moments, then nods]

Takk, Latvia. You have been very helpful.

[Latvia doesn't think he's been very helpful at all but he returns the smile none the less]

It's okay. I hope things go well, whatever you decide to do.

[A thousand years? Join the club, that's how far in his future his twin is here unfortunately.]

I know what that feels like, but... just because there's been a long absence, it doesn't mean you're both not the same inside.

[He shakes his head]

Time can change many things. He sees himself now at the height of his power, the 'King of the North'.. but in my time he is not so powerful. Not anymore.

He would not understand..

Then you have to be patient with him, giving up right away isn't helpful to either of you. Someone from my home is from my future and sometimes it's hard, he's changed... a lot... but we still care for each other.

[He nods once, slowly]

He has never been an easy person to care for, but I do care.

[Norway sighs. It occurs to him that he's being a little impolite]

I believe that formal introductions should come before, ah, what is it called.. heart-to-hearts?

[He holds out one little hand, beaming up at the older man.]

Cain Knightlord, sir, it's nice to meet you.

[Norway looks at his hand for a moment, then takes it, giving it a brief shake]

Aleksander Sólheimr.

[kinship]

It's nice to meet you, Mr. Sólheimr.

[He smiles politely.]

Have you just arrived, or is your friend who's new here?

Aleksander will be sufficient.

[He clasps his hands together]

We are both new here.

That happened with me and my brother.

[He settled further onto the bench, not looking at all perturbed as he tells the story.]

We're twins, identical, so obviously I know him as ten years old like me. When we arrived here at the same time, he was a man grown with a profession and a whole life between us.

And you adjusted?

[kinship]

It took a few weeks, but we did. We love each other, no matter how old the other is.

[He nods]

I will keep this in mind.

[ She watched him for a moment, before letting out a sigh. ]

Hmm, da. You?

Things have been better.

[He frowns, just a slight twitch of his eyebrows, before his expression turns passive again]

You should talk to him about all of this as well.

[Norway nods]

I intend to.. the moment I know what to say.

Would you like to be left to alone to think, sir?

[He doesn't want to impose.]

Mm..? Ah, apologies.. I do not have good record of being a good conversational partner.

[He manages another smile, a little warmer this time]
