Sure is an innocuous wrapped present on your doorstep, with "To: Mamizou Futatsuiwa" on it... NOT SUSPICIOUS AT ALL.]

[There's definitely something there...but since Mamizou has never smelled a vampire before, she can't quite place it. That's still a reason to mistrust this thing, though, so she knocks over the box to see what will happen.]

[The loosely tied ribbon comes undone and the lid rockets off as the hideous spring-loaded jack jumps out with a poorly-recorded laugh.

Meanwhile, somewhere behind the hedge, someone clicks their tongue quietly in frustration.]

[Mamizou's ear twitches...and then she speaks, though to no one in particular.]

Is this really all? That's a shame...

[And silence again.

Also there is a bottle of alcohol (THERE WAS NO SAKE IN STORES STUPID 50s AMERICA) in your yard. On top of a large, round patch that is noticeably a different color.]

[pompokolin]

[And Mamizou, who is always pinged by alcohol, will go to investigate. And she sure does notice that conspicuous brown patch.]

Well, this doesn't seem as suspicious. [She pokes at it with a front leg.]

[The patchy kind of bobs up and down... it's obviously something covering a pitfall, ready to give out on anyone who stood on it to get the alcohol.]

[Yep, Mamizou thought as much. After testing it a few times, she'll grab the bottle with her mouth without even setting foot on the trap.]

[Ugh... she really should have dug a bigger pit. Still, she has a back-up plan!

Do not mind at all that the original seal on the bottle is not intact. What would a tanuki know about seals anyway?]

[Hmm. Mamizou wonders just what kind of alcohol this is, not that she's expecting much from an American town in the 50s, so she peers inside. Why is the seal broken...?]

[Probably because, as anyone with a sensitive nose can tell, it's been laced with chili oil. Though the hard alcohol smell of vodka almost masks... only not really.]

[pompokolin]

[A few sniffs and Mamizou is able to pick up something that isn't right. Well, she sure isn't going to be drinking this.]

Goodness, there really isn't anything worth drinking here...

[More silent fuming. Well, maybe the tanuki will notice a folded note under the tree in the yard... and not the bucket of water in the tree branches above it, or the string going from the bucket handle to the nearby hedges.]

[Mamizou does notice the note out of the corner of her eye, and since there seems to be an endless amount of pranks set up here she figures it must be for her. And then it doesn't take long to notice the bucket of water and the string. Geez, it's like kids these days barely put as much effort into pranks as they used to...]

Really, now...such substandard effort.
